In all fairness Ref, he was up against Bale.
We all know what Bale is capable of..

That makes it even worse. Why play Skittles at right back against one of the best wingers in the league when he has played 2 games there and been destroyed once. Skittles should clearly only be used as a stopgap in that position until an actual right back is fit.
I don't blame Skittles, I think it was a mistake by Kenny. If no right backs were fit (Flanno seems to be the fittest and he has had hamstring problems) at the very least he could have played Kuyt on the right to at least offer some protection.[quote author=Hardcastle link=topic=46927.msg1401963#msg1401963 date=1316447097]
In fact there are rumours on twitter that Skrtel deliberately got himself sent off so didnt have to be tortured by Bale any more!

I think this is silly.

Agree entirely. Yesterday I was calling Skrtel all kinds, but to be fair, he isn't a right-back. Nor is he a 'footballer' is you understnad what I mean by that?
His limitations on the ball are hidden by the fact he's a centre-back but at right-back, he was exposed. Exposed as a non-footballing footballer, exposed by Gareth Bale as a makeshift right-back and exposed by his manager who after all these years in management, should have known better.
For all his brilliance, Dalglish isn't infallible and immune to criticism, and yesterday he got it badly wrong.
That said, I'm not Skrtel's biggest fan anyway. Think Henderson would be a better choice at RB if I'm being honest.
