I'll put my hand up. I was skeptical. But tonight he showed exactly why we bought him. He was terrific. And he did stepovers.

A very impressive display by Johnson tonight. He really looked very dangerous whenever he charged down the right tonight, and played a major part in opening spaces in the Stoke defence. Full marks to Rafa for buying a FB as an attacking weapon.

Johnson has been superb since he's joined.
He is exactly the kind of player we should be bringing in - Arbeloa did a good job but this guy has taken it to the next level. If we are to bring in new players, they must be able to make the contribution to the first team like this lad has

He's absolutely delicious going forward. He looks super comfortbale on the ball, and isn't afraid to try things.
He hasn't been tested the other way though, and that's when we'll see what he's really got. I'm still a bit sceptical about his defensive capabilities, and he'll probably get found out a few times over the course of the year. I expect Rafa, Pellegrino, Carra et al to fix that over time though.
One thing I fucking loved tonight wasn't jsut the play, forays forward, and all round performance, but the fucking crunch he put on that hacker Cresswell. The two of them had been niggling at each other for most of the first half, and it seemed a few words were said. Cresswell then tried to clean him up down near the corner that time that Glenjo cut inside from the byline. Glenjo just got up, said fuck all, and waited. 5 minutes later, and about 10 seconds before half-time, he returned the favour and buried the cunt. I fucking loved that. No moaning, no complaining, no rolling around, no intent on being intimidated. He just served it staright back to him. Have that you you shitcunt.
A super display.
