This was a "Juve" type of win. Tight game, slightly contentious calls in our favor, opponents are aggrieved, but at the same time no denying the obvious maturity and class. The way we kept possession for long periods after 60 minutes (when Keita came on) was beautiful.

Hendo, Van Dijk, Firmino immense again.

Neither of those three were immense today. The only immense player today was Gomez.

Gomez was clearly MOTM for me. Covered Virgil quite a few times.

Hendo did well, as did Lallana.

Mane was defensively responsible too when Troare came on.

It was hard fought and I think the game was never the same after the VAR incident. Wolves were excellent and all in honesty Liverpool were not that great but they got themselves over the line. Liverpool didn't get out of second gear. Liverpool were comfortable but Wolves were unable to hit the target. I think the Premier League is done.

Pretty much.

We completely controlled the first half though.

Thoughts:

* Gomez was fantastic.
* Hendo was good again, controlled the game, led well etc.
* Salah seemed to be playing central most of the game - odd, but I guess with their attacking threats mostly being down the wings, Bobby & Mane were covering accordingly.
* Mane - goal and was really 'on' when Traore came on. A while ago, I said he's taken his game to the next level. Speed, power and an improving end product. If he keeps up on this trajectory, he's going to be quite a player.
* Lallana was good too - credit where due.
* Gini - thought he wasn't on today .... struggled with wolves' physicality at time.
* This team (Wolves) is probably the 3rd best team in the country. They play well, they are good in all phases of the game and have players who give 100% game after game. Were it not for a poor start as they got used to Europe, they'd be challenging for 2-3 instead of 4, which they still may in time.
* As for us ... it should have been 1-1 at HT, those calls are becoming a joke and @gkmacca outlined why far better than I could. However, we did what we had to do to win the game, and again, the mark of champions. Impressed.

Very tough game but a massive 3 points. 50 games at home without a loss now, fortress Anfield.
We didnt seem that comfortable with Wolves set up, and credit to them - they played well.

Impressed by wolves, but if we had had our shooting boots on, the game would have been done by half time. Deserved win, but it was tough.

That was dire on the pitch and in the ground. Zero atmosphere, shit performance and rubbish ref.
We got away with that one big time.

What was their manager going on about afterwards, having a go at our supporters for cheering their disallowed goal? Errrr yeah of course we’re going to be made up it was ruled out you weapon.

Salah sees so much of the ball in attacking areas, creates fuck all and takes poor decisions.
Like a black hole.

What the fuck is this ? Thats how it has been for many of our games this season, they hardly created anything clear cut against us. We were well in control of that game like most games. Based on some of these comments on VAR, it feels like most of you wanted it to be 1-1, because they are Wolves or you suddenly started noticing these marginal offsides. Please cut that gay shit out and just remember 30 fucking long years we have been waiting. We won that game fair, no questions.

Never in doubt.
I unclenched with a loud phew
this was a hard fought game and probably one of our hardest this season...Well done lads
Wolves were very good, they pushed us all the way, we still have to go to their ground tight?
They were the best side we've played this season so glad that's over with.
Really? Nah I would City at home or even Sheffield United away was harder. Wolves were very good but we missed some chances that might have made it look easier
I think he was overcompensating trying to look neutral or committed to Wolves.
Ref blatantly trying to have it 'perfectly balanced' Thanos style
13 points ahead.

In December.

WIth a game in hand.

LOL
In. That. Order
LiVARpool? Not according to this report

I found it interesting that they mention that 22 goals have been disallowed this season in the premier league due to marginal offside calls by VAR, but how many goals has VAR allowed?

We are very picky now aren't we?

Yes we didn't hit top form, but we managed the game well although it was played at 100mph throughout.

Another well deserved win. Who can stop us?
