This deserves it's own thread.

His tackle, Henderson's reaction. All day, every day. Not the best, or most forceful tackle Flan's ever made, but fucking just what this Liverpool team needed. I'd daresay Jon Flanagan's not the smartest kid to ever play football, but his appreciation for the moment and for what the team and crowd need is admirable.

Have that you shit side-burned little bellend. Wheeled off at half-time too the fucking wimp. Flanno'd.

As good as moment as I've seen from a Liverpool player this season.

I've wanted him back to bin off Moreno for an age.

Hopefully he can stay fit now and push on and claim a spot in the side.

And in the Guardian report here (http://www.theguardian.com/football...l-manchester-city-premier-league-match-report), Flanagan breaking Sterling and sending him home crying doesn't go unnoticed:

The excellent Jon Flanagan, making his first league start since May 2014, set the tone for a fast, aggressive display from Liverpool inside the first minute when he sent his former team-mate Raheem Sterling flying with a challenge from the hard but fair manual. Sterling was made aware of Flanagan’s presence when barged over in front of the Kop 10 minutes later. The £49m winger wilted and was withdrawn at half-time with Anfield revelling in the ignominy.

Damn, just remembered he's not in the Europa League squad. Klopp will hopefully play him against Palace this weekend then, and he can then have a two-week break until the Southampton game away on the 20th.

Sort out his new contract already.

Mmmm - not sure what those euro referees would make of a flannoing! He does personify the hard backbone we are missing. All too often we have looked like a complete bunch of fannies, constantly being bullied on the pitch. Away at CP at the weekend is made for him.

I totally questioned him, but much happier he's in the side. Need a few scousers to at least in the squad... what's happening with Rossiter?

Sterling not coming back on got the 4th biggest cheer of the night, and it was defo down to Flan.

He's an unreconstructed player from a bygone age. He's like the comic strip character in 'Billy's Boots' where Billy wears the boots of a fantastic striker from the days of yore and is able to play with his predecessor's striking talent– but instead, Flanno is wearing the boots of a murderous FB who hospitalised opponents.

I mean how many players has he now seen off in only a couple of games? On his return in the cup against Stoke he rattled through three opponents.

Trust the true form of 6CM, that when Flanno has a series of inevitable, poor performances - most, if not half of the posters in this thread will turn on him. Just watch. 96%
