Is to keep doing the same thing and expect a different result:

Mignolet

Clyne Lovren Sakho Moreno

Henderson Lucas Can

Milner Firminho Llana

And then compound it by doing the same substitutions

If Skrtel, Gomez, Coutinho, Sturridge, Origi & Ings were fit do you think he would pick your XI?

Having said that, we can't keep that line-up any more, they have failed too often. We have to draft in a couple of the younger lads to freshen it up.

Actually doing the same thing and expecting a different result is how most inventions happened. Sorry to spoil the cliche, but it really is a stupid cliche that's been (over)used on here about eight times since September.

Seriously, do you think that side above is ever going to come good? I don't get your point.

What Klopp is doing is that he is learning the players a whole new system and a new tactic. You do that by keeping the same starting XI if you can. Then when a majority of the players in that XI know the system and tactics then you can start to make more changes.

What Klopp is doing is showing us that his system and tactics are flawed when it comes to playing organised defensive opposition.

I doubt he even has the players to his disposal to play his preferred system.

That said I'll be disapointed if we this set up against Sunderland. We clearly need a different approach attacking wise.

This is true. Man has been using the same design for a lot of things (cars, planes etc) with ever so slight tweaks and over time it's improved. In our case, the rate of tweaks to expected result isn't fast enough.

Or he hasn't got the resource he requires to make his system and tactics (that were very successful in Germany) to work. All the injuries, not his players yadda yadda yadda.

But, of course, you blame Klopp because that's easy.

Top 4 is a distant memory, Klopp can afford to do whatever he wants.

I'd ditch Moreno for Smith, he shouldn't set foot on the pitch again until someone teaches him how to play football.

We had so much of the ball but didn't really test Schmeichel at all. Two shots on target out of 14 shots and some of them were so far wide or high it was ridiculous.
Klopp seemed rightly pissed off in his interview after the game mainly with decision making from the players. If they continue to make the wrong decisions time after time they they are the wrong players and they'll be replaced.
We can be really hard to watch at times (most of the time).
For the second goal i'm fed up with how many times our players (Sakho in particular) let the ball bounce in dangerous areas. It's schoolboy stuff and needs to be addressed.

I don't understand why Sakho cannot seem to jump at a ball in mid-air for the life of him.

Do they not head balls in France?

I didn't expect miracles from Klopp but I expected some sort of improvement. I didn't expect to win last night. Leicester are top of the league on merit, but that was a real nothing display last night.

I said after the W.Ham cup game that I thought we should give some of the youngsters a longer run. They'd have done better than that lot last night.

I agree that Klopp has made lots of poor tactical and team selection decisions

Firmino isn't a striker. Sakho isn't a defender. Lucas isn't a Premiership player. Can is inconsistent. Lallana is worse.

And yet when he fields his strongest team, all of the above are in it. And they shouldn't be. Very strange and very annoying.

Maybe we're prioritising the cups, and that's why we're playing the kids in the cup games.

Though that doesn't explain Benteke.

The kids usually have HUGE gaps inbetween games at their level. I'm not condoning that, but it's how their own ludicrously disorganised league works, and what they're used to, So it's a bit much to assume they'd perform well, against probably THE most industrious, speedy and confident team in the league at the mo, just three days after a cup game. So that was never really an option.

I read somewhere (here I think) that Klopp believes in 'one-year' contract with each player. Essentially to keep faith with them for the season, but after that they expect to go their separate ways if they didn't match up to expectations.

That appears to be just what he's doing and it's fair for a new manager.

It's easier said than done to play the youngsters. There's a legitimate expectation from the club and from the players that he will try his best to work with the club's 20m++ players like Firminho, Sakho, Lovren, Can, Lallana etc. There has to be *some* quality in these players.

If you play too many youngsters too soon, you can't be sure that they will perform. It smacks of desperation, alienates the senior players, is a waste of quality in the squad and you run the risk of Sounesscide. At least he's playing the kids in the cup games now and. Hopefully we'll see a sharper side to him next season.

Well if that was the case, who would he keep after this seasons 12month contract? Clyne? Apart from him I don't think we've any players that have played well for more than 1-2games in a run. He'd have to flog the entire squad with that ethos. Ings/Gomez/sicknote/Flanno might get a bye into next season as they've been out for all of this one.

We have a lot of players that isn't reading the game good enough. What I have been talking about, game intelligence.

Klopp will sort it out. A lot of our young players that didn't played with the first team before Klopp have much better game intelligence than a lot of our first team players. You could see the difference in the FA Cup game against West Ham.

I think a lot of our young players will get a chance next season and Klopp will only sign three or four players in the summer. A few of our the first team players will be sold.

We also have the shortest team in our history. That is one reason to why we have so many problems at defensive dead ball situations, like corners. Klopp will correct that.

Our players aren't just short though they're not very strong either or aggressive enough. Mascherano was short but he made up for that by being determined, tenacious and aggresive. I don't think you can train or coach that attitude into a player but we need more players who not only can play but who hate losing and won't accept second best from themselves or their teammates.

I can't fathom why Joe Allen isn't starting in this team at the minute.

I think it must be a fitness thing. He's pretty much alternating teams at the moment, apart from a few players. I presume it's to try and give everyone the same amount of recovery inbetween games.

Klopps been a bit underwhelming so far, not that im not happy we got him but I think Rodgers would have had more points from those games, probably just because he's had more time with the squad though

Your posts are being spoiled by your obsession with Lucas. He honestly had nothing to do with us losing yesterday and was arguably our best player on the pitch.
I'm not saying that Lucas is totally blameless, but pick your moments for fucks sake.
The way you go at it, if Lucas actually does cause us to concede a goal you'll probably have an aneurysm.

While I take some of the points made here and in macca's post above yours, I'm not really persuaded by either. Klopp has indeed tried his best with the current first teamers, I'm far from sure they'd do any worse even if they were alienated (cry me a river over that one BTW) and how can one "waste" quality which isn't in evidence anyway? Nor does the fact that the younger players are used to longer gaps between games necessarily mean they couldn't cope with the first team schedule. It's true that one wouldn't want to play too many at once, but I would certainly be looking to include two or three of them at a time more frequently.
