It was an away performance in the CL and we created enough chances to win the game comfortably. It was poor finishing that cost us not Lucas' or Mascherano's performance. Yes, we lack creativity in the centre of the park, but that wasn't really the issue today. We should have scored two or three.

I dont think we should have won by 2-3 on the balance of that game, the chances we had were half chances that most goalies would save

it was the passing sideways and backwards that killed us going forward, just not enough quality and we pesisted with it all game so no surprise we came away with a draw. I actually thought we'd lose it 1-0 at one point. we rely too much on converting half chances and someone to hit a 30 yard screamer rather than putting some good moves together and finishing them off... couple that with dodgy defending and it's the reason we lose so much

The midfield didn't support the strikers as well as it should have and we were unable to put their defence under any real pressure for extended periods, however we created enough to win the game. We had three very good opportunities to grab a goal and at the top level, you can't afford to let those slip.

Torres chance in the first half was a good one. He'd normally bury those. Voronin had a one-on-one with the keeper. Are you calling that a 'half-chance'? Lucas had an excellent opportunity in the second half saved by the keeper. Babel should have done better with his opportunity just before their goal. There were one or two other good shouts too.

You don't expect to steam-roller teams away in the Champions League. It was an otherwise solid away performance let down by some poor finishing in the first instance, and some poor defending in the second.

Kuyt who was rather good tonight (for his standards this season) isn't a right winger still. With his tiny goal return from that position. Why did we start this year as a 4-2-3-1. Why don't we have a backup RB in the CL.
It is blatant how badly we miss Riera. Balance is so crucial we have even less of it with Johnson out.
Kuyt, Lucas, Mascherano, Carra (who has learnt some tricks), and Insua all are predictable players.

He's really thinking of starting Skrtel on monday, it better not be for Agger.

One great sub today, 35 minutes for Babel to create something magical.
