hahahaha what a waste

i'm guessing from that pic he isn't coming back anytime soon and it doesn't sound like he even wants to .

He's clearly suffering from depression, you have to wonder why he's not been given the right support network consisting how much city have invested in him.

"Liverpool reportedly bid £10m for the player but City offered him a lucrative contract to stay, signing him up for five years.
City were keen to develop the player with manager Sven-Goran Eriksson once saying he would not swap Johnson even for Steven Gerrard."

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHAHHAHAHAAHHA!!!!

from the commets on the article

"Who cares? Another waster who could've had everything but couldn't be bothered. file with Ravel Morrison and Steven Gerrard"

Shame, funny as it may sound, he must have major problems. Hope he works through his issues and get back playing again.

@IanHyland
Man City have cancelled Michael Johnson's contract just two years after Liverpool bid £10 million for him.Liverpool have now upped the bid to £20 million.

Fucking Daily Mail wanker.

I actually thought that was quite funny myself, far too funny for him to have thought of it himself.

Surely they could've fought to cancel his contract without paying him off. He's surely in breach of it somehow judging by the pics of him.

Jesus hes a mess, I remember seeing him and Stephen Ireland in the City midfield a few years back and thinking they had a couple of gems who would be worth millions in a couple of years, both of them turned out to be a waste of space. Having said that Man City have seriously gone backwards in player development since they struck oil, look at Micah Richards at 19 he was one of the best prospects in English football, 5 years later he cant buy a game

Wow, at least we dodged one bullet. But yet another reminder that our scouting department has been really REALLY pathetically bad at their job.

It's easy to laugh your bollocks off at such quotes now but M.Johnson looked a great prospect back then.

Crazy to see what a mess he is now. Sad and disturbing.

I thought him, Ireland, Noble, Nolan and Barton would be the next generation of Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard etc and with the exception of Nolan whos done quite a good job throughout all the others are and hae been worse than Scholes is NOW.

I've always thought Nolan would and should have played for a better club than he has done.

I haven't.

He's always scored goals, and is a jack of all trades (master of none, admittedly). It was a strange move for him going down to the championship. He's a Premiership player. Certainly better than a lot of the shite we've had in our squads recently.

Not sure, Hal. He definitely has an eye for goal but the rest of his game hasn't ever seemed to me to be on the same level.

I'm not saying he's a world beater. Just better than Bolton and West Ham and Newcastle of the Championship.

He would have done a better job in our midfield than Spearing, Adam and Aquilani.

That's not me advocating that we sign him, or ever should have done, by the way.
