Who'd have thought it eh, wages being an issue. I thought it would just be a case of him being the same value as Lallana (for example), ergo it's that straight forward. I'd never make a CEO, I'd run teams into the ground, forgetting about stuff like players wanting double the wages, wanting to play in the capital, etc. I'd go out and put everyone on Suarez' wages and worry about it later, crossing all fingers and praying to Peter Risdale.

What do you do though when Johnson strolls in, on 120k a week, at 29, and a very average season, saying he wants a pay rise, a signing on bonus, and a 4-5yr contract, with him only having a year left. You'd surely have to tell him bollocks, and risk letting him go on a free?

yeah obviously the overall package to sign fabregas is going to cost more than lallana and would probably be out of our wage structure but how can anyone not think it's crazy to give southampton a similar 25-30m fee for a player who as only done 2% of what fabregas has in their career ? . So you're telling me that we couldn't get better than lallana for that amount ?
