True but I read that was becase they tried to do that deal too late.
Apparently Bayern faced the same issue with Martinez but did the ground work 6 weeks before to get it sorted.

So it looks like Roman wants Fabregas to replace Lampard, but Mourinho doesn't want him (for roughly the same reasons he didn't want Mata, plus there were some personal issues between them in Spain). It will be interesting who prevails and how it will affect their already uneasy relationship.

I like Fabregas, but we can't pay him £200K/week, no chance.
