Why? He might want to come back to England. Hes been here a good few years and playing for am English team tends to propel players to superhero levels

i guess from parma's point of view there was no point going above the price they did if they were only going to sell him for 5m more to us , it's pretty much the same profit .

Same now applies to Roma so unless we offer say 12 or something then i'd be surprised if they'd be interested at all .

Doubt this will happen .

wait .....doesn't one of Tom and John's mates own Roma ? maybe they've told him to buy Borini to make his sale to us easier !

Yeah, even if it does the fee would probably be double the amount they paid for him. Roma spent €1.25m to sign him on co-ownership deal and with the €4.9m now, its €6.15m. Good profit for Parma seeing that they signed him on free transfer. Guess it depends on whether he lies in Zeman's plans.

"I am at Roma now," Borini told Goal.com. "Roma have just bought me, either today or yesterday.

"It's not my business now to go to Liverpool or to stay. I don't know [if there is a possibility of doing so]. For now, I am a Roma player."

Roma paid 5.3 million euro for half of him, in a blind auction

My grandad who's from Swansea described this lad as 'better than torres'. Now whether that's Liverpool Torres or Chelsea Torres.......

But what he did say was promising so would be a decent pick up I think, for the record he did say better than Torres was for us

Fabio Borini is now owned outright by Roma after a blind auction with Parma and this represents “a dream come true.”

The striker was part of a co-ownership deal, but the Giallorossi won the blind auction with an offer of what is believed to be between €4.9m and €5.3m.

“We are very happy, because finally Fabio has made a dream come true, which is to become a Roma player completely,” said agent Marco De Marchi on TMW.

“We hoped the two clubs would reach an agreement so we wouldn’t have the adrenaline rush of the auction, but that’s the way it went.

“We’re aware that Roma sent an important signal in making the move permanent and consequently the lad is truly happy with this ending.

“He will do everything to repay the Giallorossi for their faith in him and become an important element for Roma.”

It was widely reported that if Parma had won the auction, they would’ve soldBorini on to either Liverpool or Inter.

“When players like Fabio, Mattia Destro, Marco Verratti and others make their mark, it’s obvious that other clubs are going to pay attention.

“You’d have to ask Parma. Their President Tommaso Ghirardi confirmed some offers arrived, but we were focused on the move to Roma right to the end and are happy with the outcome.”

What's up with Parma? They seem to be having a fire-sale. First Giovinco now Borini.

Not a fire sale ...

Parma had 50% co-ownership for those players.

Roma had the other 50% for Borini, Juve had the other 50% for Giovinco.

Both Roma & Juve then decided go to an auction with Parma to purchase the remaining ownership rights outright.

Parma can't compete with Juve/Roma when it comes to things like that.

I know a few chelsea fans who were livid he left. Perhaps pesam can enlighten us to his Swansea days
Hi Fabio, sorry I'm just getting up to speed having been away for 10 days and I just saw this thread.

I saw him twice for Swansea and he was very good in both games and scored in both (including the game in which he scored the fee kick that has cropped up in most clips of him).

He has such a confident air about him which reminded me of a young Shearer. When Shearer frist broke into the Southampton team he immediately had a "swagger" about him in that he knew he belonged in the top division and he knew he'd score. Borini has the same attitude "give me the ball and I'll stick it in the net".

Obviously it's difficult to judge him based on 2 games and he's probably a better player now than the one I saw a year ago but based on what I saw I'd say that for the money being quoted he'd have to worth taking a chance on.

But if he does end up signing for us at one point I'll be proclaiming him some super Torres--Shearer hybrid

Fabio Borini has snubbed transfer interest in his services from Liverpool. “I am a Roma player,” he insisted.

The Premiership club are keen on the forward given that new boss Brendan Rodgers worked with him during a spell at Swansea.

Liverpool made some enquiries last week, but could do nothing until his co-ownership status was resolved.

That was sorted out on Saturday after the capital club won a blind auction for his services with Parma.

“I am a Roma player,” the Italian international, part of the Azzurri’s Euro 2012 squad, said when asked about a possible move to Anfield.

“It’s not my business that there is talk about whether I go to Liverpool or stay. It doesn’t matter to me, I am Roma.”

i love how the headlines for this are things like "Borini snubs liverpool " and "Borini only wanted Roma " .

I mean did he have a fucking choice ? It was a blind auction with the highest bidding team getting him . He went where he was told .
