Fabio Borini

He actually sounds just the kind of forward Italy need at the moment. He hasn't been used yet, has he?

Hes still only scored 15 goals in his whole career like.
Good to sign good young players, but we need a bit of qualitay too.

Parma lol.

Whoever made up that story needs a slap in the face - it would be a backward step to move from Roma to Parma.

I'm all for signing Borini, as long as its not an outrageous fee.

Definitely the kind of player we should be signing instead of energizer bunnies like Kuijt.

sorry , is he an out and out striker or more a luis suarez style , creative , in a time past known as a "number 10 " ?

If the latter , is he what we need ? are we not better off with more of a finisher ? Although obviously the bottom line at the moment is just to sign quality players .

I like the sound of this lad but I had to laugh when I read this from the Mirror

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror is also linking Liverpool with a move for Borini, who worked with Brendan Rodgers at Chelsea and Swansea.
The red top describes the 21-year-old as the 'Italian Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain' - and apparently he is not the only new face who'll soon be arriving at Anfield.

Well, considering the article says he's a typical Italian number 9, I'd guess no.

I hope we sign him, and that he isn't too frustrated watching Andy Carroll boss the league while he waits for his opportunities.

I think he'd have a good amount of opportunities between himself, Carroll and Suarez. This is the kinda unknown potential gem signing that Modo kept going on about in the Sig thread. I'd thought he'd be more excited about this.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to make an offer for Fabio Borini once his co-ownership status between Roma and Parma is resolved.

The two Italian clubs have until 7pm local time this evening to take full ownership or they will be forced into a blind auction. Envelopes will be opened tomorrow morning.

Borini moved to Parma last summer on a free transfer after his contract at Chelsea was not renewed by the English club.

The 21-year-old then moved to Roma on loan and the Giallorossi bought a 50 per cent share in him during the January transfer window.

Reports in Italy are suggesting that both clubs are looking to 'keep' him, especially as the Premiership outfit may be ready to offer as much as €12m for his services.

Liverpool’s interest is as a result of the appointment of Brendan Rodgers at Anfield. Borini worked under Rodgers at Swansea during a brief loan spell where he scored six goals in 12 League games.

Borini is currently on international duty with Italy at Euro 2012, but he has yet to appear for the Azzurri in the tournament.

Roma decided not to activate the buy-out clause for Fabio Borini. Liverpool, PSG, and A. C. Milan are making bids. (Gazzetta Dello Sport)

Why? Hes played under rodgers and at chelsea. Can imagine he'll go where he'll get starts.

well yeah i guess the rodgers card might sway him but he chose to leave chelsea and return to italy where he started doing well and got into the italian team on the back of it . Bit of a risk to leave again after such a short period . The safer choice would be to stay but obviously if he's decent i'd like him to join us .

Still confused so two clubs own him and are bidding against each other in order to sell him on????😵

Its apparently quite common in Italy. Thats provided they are confident they can sell the player for a higher price than the one they pay to buy out the remaining 50% ownership.

Fabio Borini and Alessandro Diamanti are among the players whose future will be decided by a ‘blind auction,’ as their clubs couldn’t reach an agreement.

Borini is co-owned by Roma and Parma, who failed to reach a deal over the remaining 50 per cent of his contract.

They also couldn’t strike a bargain on renewing the co-ownership situation, so the matter will go to a blind auction.

That means each club places a figure in a sealed envelope and the highest offer wins. The envelopes are opened at 10.00 UK time on Saturday morning.

There are already reports that Roma placed a €5m offer for half the Italian international striker, but Parma may well have the upper hand.

This is also because Liverpool are thought to be interested in buying Borini off Parma this summer.

Another Euro 2012 player going to the blind auction is Diamanti, who is co-owned by Bologna and Serie B side Brescia.

The 29-year-old’s future is still up in the air and will be decided tomorrow morning.

There are rumours Roma have the winning bid for Fabio Borini and Bologna will keep Alessandro Diamanti.

The two players will only discover their fate at 10.00 UK time on Saturday morning, when the sealed envelopes in the blind auction will be opened.

According to the latest reports, Roma placed a €4.9m bid for the remaining 50 per cent of Borini’s contract, beating Parma’s supposed €4.26m offer.

If this is the case, then the Giallorossi would own the striker outright.

Parma had been hoping to buy back Borini so they could then sell him on to Liverpool.

The rumour mill also suggests Bologna have won the blind auction with Brescia for Diamanti, who is also on international duty with Italy at Euro 2012.

It is claimed Bologna offered €3.36m compared to Brescia’s €3.1m.

The real figures will only be ascertained when the envelopes are opened on Saturday morning.

The blind auctions have been held and Roma bought Fabio Borini from Parma, while Bologna now own Alessandro Diamanti.

In Italy all co-ownership deals must be in place by the June 22 deadline or they go to a blind auction. This is where both clubs write a figure in a sealed envelope and the highest bid wins the remaining half of his contract.

The biggest name in the auction, with envelopes opened at 10.00 UK time today, was Italian international Borini.

The striker was co-owned by Parma and Roma, but the Giallorossi now own him outright after offering €4.9m for 50 per cent of his contract compared with Parma’s €4.26m.

It is still a good deal for the Ducali, who signed Borini as a free agent a year ago when he was released by Chelsea.

The other Euro 2012 figure in the auction was Diamanti, who belonged to both Brescia and Bologna.

As expected, Bologna won the bidding war with an offer of €3.36m, just beating Brescia’s €3.1m.

Fiorentina have won their auctions for both Houssine Kharja and Andrea Lazzari, who were co-owned with Genoa and Cagliari respectively.

The other players who went to this morning’s blind auction were:

Mirco Antenucci (Torino-Catania) – winner Catania

Francesco Bolzoni (Genoa-Siena) – winner Siena

Houssine Kharja (Genoa-Fiorentina) – winner Fiorentina

Andrea Lazzari (Fiorentina-Cagliari) – winner Fiorentina

Andrea Caracciolo (Brescia-Genoa) – winner Brescia
