Yea I shower first thing. Wakes me up for the day feeling refreshed.
A shower before bed. Not a fan. Showers are for waking up. If deep cleaning is needed before bed it must surely be a bath?
Coffee doesn't actually wake you up, it just stops you from sleeping. You dirty buggers. Shower before bed. Always. Means all that sweat and grime doesn't get into your sheets and the shower relaxes you for a good night's sleep. No-one has a bath every night ! Coffee is the only answer to waking up and feeling refreshed.
Great post, the first of two in about seven hours, a great sign.

The whole situ not helped by a gap of 10 days between games and a Jan window where we don't have a single campfire thread open. It'll pick up - over the past six months i've felt there has been a steady increase in posting across the forum (or maybe just by people I look out for)
Youve clearly missed the riveting ‘Door Handle’ thread old chum.Yeah, but the quieter it is the more Moron feels compelled to fill up the space with his ongoing mental breakdown.

If I shower before bed then I wake up with hair sticking up in all directions.

Modafinil is boss. Best hangover cure ever. That's like the difference between amphetamines and modafanil. The latter just makes you awake and with no need of sleep. The former wires you up and boosts you beyond normal.
As I sit here with my morning coffee I wish I had either.
Just skip past his posts. I’ve found it better for my own sanity.
Coffee doesn't actually wake you up?
It reduces feelings of tiredness, sure, but it's also just a stimulant. Those two things are as close to meaning "wakes you up" as I can imagine.
Its primary mechanism of action is inhibiting the effect of adenosine. Adenosine makes you sleepy. So really it is just restoring you to the level of wakefulness you'd have if you didn't have to get sleepy. Semantic difference perhaps but true nonetheless.
That would be a silly semantic difference, I agree. But it's also a significant stimulant... it affects your whole central nervous system. It makes my wife talk a mile a minute. It makes me focus on work I loathe for half an hour. It makes me beat boss fights in Hollow Knight. These affects on performance and concentration have nothing to do with Adenosine.
This is fucking silly. Get the fuck off wikipedia. Anyone who has had a cup of coffee knows it doesn't just remove sleepiness. This isn't some exotic drug. I'm happy we've all learned about Adenosine now, but if that's all coffee did, the whole world wouldn't be addicted to it.
So what you're saying is, I should stop snorting coffee grinds & find something stronger? It has downstream effects on dopamine and noradrenaline but can hardly be compared to direct receptor activation or neurotransmitter release like with amphetamines. It's the quick onset of action, rapid decay of primary effect, and establishment of near complete tolerance combined with awful withdrawal that makes it addictive. In that regard it is similar to amphetamines but not with respect to mechanism of action.
How finely are you grinding them? What you could do is to fill a nasal spray with some extra strong espresso and squirt that up your beak.So what you're saying is, I should stop snorting coffee grinds & find something stronger?
