Everton: I'm curious...

Having read the more recent posts I'm shocked at the anecdotes, especially Scousers mocking the 97 - incredible. I haven't been back for quite a few years now, more likely to go to a funeral now than the game, but I really can't imagine my cousins bringing up their kids to have such a hate. Back in the late 70's/early 80s we used to swap tickets within the family so I occasionally watched Everton when there was a 'spare' and openly spoke about being a Liverpool fan. Got a fair bit of shit with that and my Yorkshire accent but it was all (harsh!) banter. I imagine you'd get massacred now (and who'd want to watch Everton anyway lol)

My Dad's a blue, so naturally I've always refrained a bit from laying into them.

They use the "always the victims" jibe these days, which is ironic because their lack of self awareness increases by the season. Kick shit out of everyone and blame it on a tackle Stevie did on Campbell 20 years ago, blame us for their own failures and blame it on Heysel from nearly 40yrs ago... it seemed to start with stuff like Van Der Meyde, then the tackle on Origi, Barkley on Henderson a few times - actually that game really turned the screw and was the makings of Hendo. Having already been on the end of a bad RB challenge at Anfield, in the next Woodison game the same thing happened. Henderson brushed himself off, ran the game and Mane stole a last gasp winner. Then we proceeded to twat them in almost every game, challenging for trophies again while they jumped on the managerial merry-go-round and plummeted to the depths.

Now it's chants about the 97. My colleague is a steward, she said Sunday was the worst it's been. Suffocation and push gestures throughout. My daughters ex (Evertonian) was brought up to hate us, used to ring my daughter post derby defeat, taking his frustration out, calling us murderers etc, it came from his Dad who had the same attitude.

So fuck them. I hope they spiral and spiral into the doldrums of lower league football and stay there. They've absolutely no concept of self-failure or taking ownership for their own fuck-ups and idiot minority (if it even is one). My only fear is the hatred will only fester more. We'll have another million years of them blaming us for their relegation, but I'd take that if we only have to send out our reserves occasionally to twat them in the cups.

I hate them. Small-man-syndrome riddled absolute tramps.

After reading this, lets hope they go down this season and continue that fall every season till they are out for the football league and are hopefully replaced by Tranmere Rovers as the second team in Liverpool

I've lived up this way for 14 years or so. It'll be shame for the city if the ground doesn't get built. Beyond that, fuck them.

They can take their bitterness down to League 2.

I do feel sorry for a lot of their fans, but if you look at the club it's getting what it deserves. Imagine taking Tory Frank on to try to save you. The place is nuts. Imagine what klopp could have done with their budget. We'd be champions of the multiverse.

Dad and gran from old Swan but grew up in the midlands but season ticket holder late 80s/early 90s and go to about ten games home and away a season still.
Down and stay down. Fuck them.

When even Sean feels no pity for them it's unanimous. Send them down and close this thread.

I’m local and after the shit they sang and did in the derby I hope they go down and stay there like Leeds…

I handed out anti Tory leaflets (with a red banner!) in the Gwaldys street for the first competitive match back after Hillsborough, and they were grabbing them out of my hands, patting me on the back, and generally being extremely supportive of all reds in there.

What has happened to them?

Grew up in Liverpool and started watching the Reds in 1961. Now in Derbyshire via Manchester and London. Would be made up to see the Blues relegated. As a kid, Evertonians used to sneer at us because we were in Division 2 and had never won the cup, so hopefully karma will make a (very delayed) appearance.

I'm Irish and want them gone. The only think That they can hold over us is that they are the 2nd longest team in the top flight after arsenal who have never been relegated. They go down and we replace them in 2nd spot

Am a Dub who has visited often for the match only. Love the City (Liverpool ) so am not sure if Everton dissappearing would hurt it. Also Rangers fucking up sp badly for so many years did so much damage to Scotish football. We do need these grudge matches. FYI I HATE EVERTON

See what you're saying, but the Manchester clubs aren't going anywhere soon and there's more than enough of a grudge factor there. Everton haven't actually been title contenders for decades.

My Dad's a blue, so naturally I've always refrained a bit from laying into them. (I was born in Liverpool but lived in Cheshire most of my life)

Then we proceeded to twat them in almost every game, challenging for trophies again while they jumped on the managerial merry-go-round and plummeted to the depths. So they snapped VVD to derail our season, then celebrated like they'd won the world cup when they finally beat our depleted side last season.

Now it's chants about the 97. My colleague is a steward, she said Sunday was the worst it's been. Suffocation and push gestures throughout. My daughters ex (an Evertonian) was brought up to hate us, he used to ring my daughter post derby defeat, taking his frustration out, calling us murderers etc, it came from his Dad who had the same vile attitude.

Wow, that's bad, their behavior. I didn't think it was that bad

Rotherham v Everton sounds like a great fixture, so it’s a down from me.
Everton will also get to once again test out the much missed question of whether they can handle a cold wet, windy night in Stoke. Lets hope they still can't.

I'm a wool.
They never bothered me too much but the last few years as we've got more successful they've become even more bitter.
Send them down, give them something to actually be bitter about.

From across the Irish sea. I don't know what the stats are, but it certainly feels like we lose players through nasty tackles in this fixture more than in any other, with Everton attempting to make up for being shit with dangerous challenges. They literally cost us a chance at a title defence last season. The cunts even do it in the mini-derby at U18. And they have this 'school of science' fantasy that good football is in their DNA. I will miss them booing their own team, but time to fuck off, bitters.

Everton are just filled with cunts who behave in the most unusual way for footballers.
It starts with Pickford and just continues through the spine.
