I've seen a lot of 'I don't want them to go down because...' posts in various social media outlets - I'm curious what our population thinks, and if / how where you're from affects the answer...

I'm local / I'm a wool: I'm a wool.

Like / Meh / Dislike / Despise: Despise

Stay Up / Go down: Go down (and never return)

If you answered 'Stay Up', why?:

Send them down where they belong. It's not even funny now. You wouldn't keep a three legged cat with one eye so....

The funny thing is if they went down I honestly couldn't see them coming straight back up at the first attempt either. The new stadium won't happen either. Please let it be

Didn't we do this thread? I'm a top scuzzer... I want them to go down because it would be fucking hilarious. A year or two down there.... won't happen though...
I’m a bad scuzzer and think the same. Apart from the fact they are going down.

I was torn until Sunday. Now I want to have woodison as one of them homes you send naughty kids to, where they get bummed by priests. If I was Elon Musk I'd spend fifty billion quid deleting every single record that they ever existed. Leave the dirty white sock wearing scruffs thinking it had all been a hundred long year nightmare.

Born to a scouse dad in Yorkshire, lived briefly in Bootle and Litherland but since the age of 5 I visit don’t live in Liverpool. Season ticket holder for two years in the 90s and have a raft of top cousins who support Everton.

I know they will suffer but I have to say relegate and stay relegated

I was initially thinking I didn’t want them to be relegated but after that last game , fuck them ! Send em down ..
scouser from wavertree / then Allerton …Lived in Manc too
came to this part of the south aba 12 years ago…

Doth pity them too much.

Down down down and stay down

One of the reasons,(Not the main one) I was drawn to supporting Liverpool was the comradery of both sets of fans. That on a Merseyside derby match day you saw both set of supporter sitting next to one another through out the stadium Anfield and Goodison alike. The game were always hard fought but fair.

Don't know if it was before, or in the advent of the PL. It changed...No longer see that mixture of supports sitting with one another. Instead it is like every other game you see with supporters divided...
Also it seem more and more that the Everton players (and I don't say that being a Liverpool supporter) seem to go out of they way at time to deliberately try to injury our players.

You would have believe, or at least I would have believe that you would not have seen this type of thing even less under a Frank Lampard managership.
But last night was shameful from some of their players. especially Richarlison

They should be relegated and being the The championship for at least the next five season...
I would not miss them

Kind of the same. For my decent Bluenose mates I've kind of had some empathy all along. Most of them are sound, normal rational football supporters. Then I was outside the Harry on Sunday having a bevvy with a few mates and my 14 year old kid when about 40 "Everton Youth" turn up from a side street looking to cause shit. It was a bit weird. At first you see a big bunch of nobheads out for shit and think here we go, from our own city btw, and then everyone just realised they were all about 16 years of age, completely ignored them and carried on having a drink whilst about 8 bizzies and a few police horses sent them on their way. After the game the missus picks us up as per normal and I tell my mate who lives the far end of County Road we'll give him a lift. Glad I did cos there was a large crew of blueshite rats hanging round that Hot Wok by Goodison just waiting to pick off a stray Kopite or two. So, much as I love my bluenose mates who are alright, cos of these gobshites I want to see them go where they belong and that's the lower leagues. Let them play that shit with Millwall and all that bollocks. Friendly derby my arse. Fuck them.

To answer this. It all changed when they had season after season of just being shit and decided it was all our fault, you know, because Heysel. Which was nearly 40 years ago. Fuck all to do with decades of mismanagement from top to bottom. Nope, blame Kopites because it can't be anything they've done as a club

Dislike

I used to know a number of reasonable blue fans. Most had probably grown up with a reasonable expectation of a decent team playing decent football. In the 90s and 2000s it was actually a good rivalry, tough but neither side had much else to crow about so it meant something. The longer they've gone without success the more toxic the club has become. Most of their fans under 30 seem to define themselves by hating Liverpool rather than wanting Everton to actually do anything. I used to really enjoy the derby l, now I dread it, not because I think they will beat us but because their only victory is in hospitalising some of our players.

Relegation and staying down for 3 or 4 years. I genuinely think it would do them good to bot be in the same division as us for a few seasons as our recent successes have pushed them over the edge.

I'll be honest - no not really, but given how rough they have been and the injuries that our players seem to get in these games, it will be nice not to have to play those fuckers in the league as they only turn up when playing against us.

I'm from the Wirral but worked a few years at Seaforth/Bootle/Gladstone/Pier Head.

I despise the cunts even though in my youth it was indeed the time when blues and reds walked arm to arm to the match. those days have long gone. They are the second most bitter set of fans in the country.

I want them to go down and never return, let them transmogrify into Tranmere North.

Overseas non-local (does that make me a double wool?)

Couldn’t give too hairy fucks if they go down m, so fuck ‘em.

Grew up in the lakes.. Two of my best mates during my formative years were/are blues. This was during their peak in the 80s. They tried to get me to switch obviously.

But anyways, I remember speaking to one of them a few years ago and was astounded at the tripe he was spouting about Heysel being the reason why we were bigger than them. We ruined their chance for European glory etc etc.

So yeah, fuck um. Go down and stay down.

My Dad's a blue, so naturally I've always refrained a bit from laying into them. (I was born in Liverpool but lived in Cheshire most of my life)

They use the "always the victims" jibe these days, which is ironic because their lack of self awareness increases by the season. Kick shit out of everyone and blame it on a tackle Stevie did on Campbell 20 years ago, blame their own failures on Heysel from nearly 40yrs ago...

It seemed to start with stuff like Van Der Meyde's red card, then the tackle on Origi, Barkley on Henderson a few times - actually that game really turned the screw and was the makings of Hendo. Having already been on the end of a bad RB challenge at Anfield, in the next Woodison game the same thing happened. Henderson brushed himself off, ran the game and Mane stole a last gasp winner. Then we proceeded to twat them in almost every game, challenging for trophies again while they jumped on the managerial merry-go-round and plummeted to the depths. So they snapped VVD to derail our season, then celebrated like they'd won the world cup when they finally beat our depleted side last season.

Now it's chants about the 97. My colleague is a steward, she said Sunday was the worst it's been. Suffocation and push gestures throughout. My daughters ex (an Evertonian) was brought up to hate us, he used to ring my daughter post derby defeat, taking his frustration out, calling us murderers etc, it came from his Dad who had the same vile attitude.

So fuck them. I hope they spiral and spiral into the doldrums of lower league football and stay there. They've absolutely no concept of self-failure or taking ownership for their own fuck-ups and their idiot minority (if it even is one). My only fear is the hatred will only fester more. We'll have another million years of them blaming us for their relegation, but I'd take that if it means we only have to send out our reserves occasionally to twat them in the cups.

I hate them. Small-man-syndrome riddled absolute tramps.

Born Scouse but family moved away when I was just a nipper. Been back since, but not v.often and only for the football.

Despise, from the time they started coming it with the "murderers" stuff. As an aside on us supposedly keeping them out of Europe, we actually did them a favour, 'coz they'd have embarrassed themselves at that level.

They've been committing GBH on our players for too long now for me to want anything but their immediate and long-term relegation.

Absolutely want them to go down.

It is not as if they have been put into some hopeless situation that isn't their fault. They have had money, they have had some decent managers and decent players, and as much as they keep blaming all their woes on something that happened nearly 40 years ago, they have had times since then when they have done alright for short periods. They have just squandered it. Their own fault.

From a selfish point of view I won't miss derby games at all. They are always a pain in the arse that we can do without and have become really aggressive. Would rather play Fulham twice a year than Everton.

OOT. My dad and his family are from Liverpool but I was born and raised elsewhere.

I don't *hate* them per-se and the blues I've met have generally been good people... but I dislike the team due to the way they play against us.

I'd like to see them go down and never come back.

Grew up next to Bellefield (!) in West Derby. Live In Sussex. Loads of blue mates growing up. My dad was friends with the Ev ground staff, could always get tickets for Goodison.

Like many others, I never wanted them to go down - but the last few years have changed things. Maybe them getting relegated would reduce the hate levels ?
