England's Brave John Terry Is No Longer....

He's red mate. Always has been, always will be.

He's often a dick, but always a red.

And when he bothers to post meaningful stuff, it's invariably quality and worth reading. You just have to deal with the shit in between.

I appreciate your perspective but I think I'll just avoid. Have enough people who spout utter tripe at the game. Don't need to come on here for it too.
Thanks though.

Just a feeling I get after watching some of Fergusons interviews when the subject was brought up. He always quickly wanted to move on and not discuss it, when has Ferguson ever not taken the opportunity to slate our club or one of our players? This time he's been (for him at least) quite reserved. With regards the FA again it's a feeling. He's done this quite a few times now and during the witch hunt that was Suarez's case they couldn't have failed to have come to the same conclusions that everyone else did. Personally, I think if Kenny etc had kept their mouths shut it wouldn't have been so bad but the FA decided to punish us even more. Kenny was off to a losing start before the season started when he straight away started slating the referee's.

It's true that Ferguson seems disinclined to dwell on the whole thing now, but I definitely don't interpret that in the way you do. Having been instrumental in it while it was happening, now that it's over and he got what he wanted out of it he can afford to look statesmanlike by ignoring it. He's a despicable human being, but he's nobody's fool and he's played the media - who are frightened to death of him anyway - to perfection all the way through.

BTW whatever the rights and wrongs of Kenny's handling of the matter, I don't think it had a blind thing to do with the FA's conduct of it. They wanted to twist Blatter's tail over the racism issue and this was too good an opportunity for them to pass up.

For sure, ignore him and improve your own experience.

I just wanted to comment on your suggestion that he randomly followed us and isn't a passionate fan.

We are a weird assortment here and obviously there will be personality clashes. The one commonality we all have though is our support for this great club.
Everything is fair game on here, but I know that the only thing that someone could say on this forum to offend me would be to question my support.

Anyway, Ryan can speak for himself, and you can have the personal pleasure of not reading his response.

Your last line made me laugh out loud. Fair enough. I will never understand though how doing nothing but knock the club and the city shows support. Just seems a pointless way to spend a huge chunk of ones life. I can be as vociferous as anyone when it comes to certain aspects of the club but try to always actually live up to the term 'supporter'.
Just trying to be the guy who always winds people up or is deliberately obtuse is a bit boring.

There's plenty more where that came from on here. Believe me.

Supporting the club shouldn't be an exercise in fundamentalism. The last 8 letters in the word explain why.
If you lack the capacity to see and acknowledge the good and the bad in the club I feel sorry for you.

If you go back to the Suarez threads and read all the complaints from the (funda)mentalists its amazing that those so concerned with principles of justice aren't loudly complaining about the travesty that this FA decision on Terry is.

I don't think it's a conspiracy theory as such, but more an English player thing.

English players get a free ride 9 times out of 10 with the press whereas most foreign players get shit, esp ones who don't speak the language well.

Maybe people are just confused as to why one merits an 8 match ban and the other a 4 match ban.

Even Mr Powar doesnt understand it.

Put who on ignore?

Ryan. He used to be fine but he seems to be trying to be the new Brendan these days. I don't like ignoring anyone but it's best for everyone if I do in this case - and this forum now has a great ignore facility that doesn't keep reminding you of the fact, it just makes them invisible, which is brilliant.

Jose Mourinho, Terry's former manager at Chelsea, insisted the defender is "not a racist".
"He's not racist, that's 100%," the Real Madrid coach told CNN. "Probably he had a racist comment or attitude against an opponent.

What?

That's because there's no scope for misinterpretation, there's no cultural misunderstanding, there's no linguistic experts stating that the meaning is different to the alleged meaning, there's no discrepancy among the witness testimonies.

He called him a fucking black cunt. It's fairly (sorry) black and white.

But he's England's Brave John Terry, so he got off lightly, as everyone knew he would, and virtually everyone in the media are fawning over him and saying how unfair it all is, as we knew they would.

Suarez was not given that same level of understanding and forgiveness, and it's fairly obvious that a large part of that is down to the fact he's not (ex) captain of the England football team.

Suggesting there's a hint of racism in the judgement isn't bonkers, it's eminently reasonable

What?

It had me puzzled as well.

"John Terry is not a racist but he made racist comments that is all," according to Jose

LOL

Great post.

I like this site because it isn't RAWK. But it's turning into it.

I think you'll find, gents, that many of us feel that there's a HUGE difference between the two cases... One was not - in my opinion, and I know many do not share it - proven, but rather based on probabilities and possibilities, while cultural differences and ignorance were conveniently ignored, while the other was a slam-dunk, in comparrison.

I am not the slightest bit mental, by the way. And nor is this site anything like flippin' RAWK. If it was, I'd have banned you for disagreeing with me... 😉

I love the way those who think Suarez was stitched up are labelled fundamentalists. Ha, fucking brilliant. Yet acting like a complete cunt, waddling around the site on the wind up and criticising every single facet of the club and posters who may have a differing opinion isn't viewed as extreme behaviour is it ? What a crock of fucking shit.

The tolerance on this site with wums is incredible. Most members would have been banned (including me) if this site were anything like RAWK.

Abso. Feckin. Lutely.

John Terry is ruled out for a few weeks with his stigmata anyway. The apparently random distribution of the wounds of christ make it very difficult for him to get his boots on.
