Hasn't it been true for 10 years now? England played far more expansive football in the lead up to the cup, then when it comes down to it, you see the the same shit, out of balance team, team selection, and tight, awful play.

Not going to help though is it? The players don't owe them a god damn thing they way
they treat them. Booing crouch onto the pitch for example in a previous game.

I'm made up the chest thumping National Anthem belting, St George outfit Sun boaler hat wearing, God Bless You Mam, 1966 tosspots dreams are close to tatters again. Maybe they might now realise they're an average Nation living on a lucky win over 40 years ago. Maybe if they went into tournaments without the hype and the 'We invented the game, how dare they not let us win' drivel, I might start giving them a smidgeon of respect. Fuck England.

I think the majority of England supporters have a decent idea of what is a reasonable expectation. Is it so crazy to expect that England do significantly better that what they have thus far?

I watched that game and England were playing so poorly that I was actually, in spite of myself, supporting them, willing them to improve. I can't understand Capello's formation or thinking. That said, what can you do when players don't perform anywhere near their capabilities? Rooney especially, Johnson, Lampard, gerrard, take your pick, they were all poor. Kudos to our Jamie who I thought was fantastic after a slightly nervy beginning. Still, I can tell you for a fact that playing Joe Cole and Crouch from the start would improve that team massively.
