Jaysis lads, I didn't even look at the top part of that pic before posting it.
Never even glanced at it.

Apologies to everyone.

The commentary during that game was unbelievable. I'm feeling a little frustrated with Capello for not changing things, but the way those two were going on was just absolutely insane.

No freedom, tension within the camp, pressure of playing for England, too tense, too rigid, playing in straight jackets.... WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ON ABOUT?!?! It's been like this for 10 years counting.
Hasn't it been true for 10 years now? England played far more expansive football in the lead up to the cup, then when it comes down to it, you see the the same shit, out of balance team, team selection, and tight, awful play.
Yeah, that's what I was saying. This is nothing new, so to start going on about how it's all Capello's fault for stifling the creativity of these world class players is a bit baffling.

That said, they've been pretty shit even by Englands standards so far and Capello has to shoulder some of that blame. He's had a good time of it in the run up to the World Cup, but it seems to be going horribly wrong now. Too many injuries, key players badly under-performing and the same old tactical problems resurfacing.

I watched that game and England were playing so poorly that I was actually, in spite of myself, supporting them, willing them to improve. I can't understand Capello's formation or thinking. That said, what can you do when players don't perform anywhere near their capabilities? Rooney especially, Johnson, Lampard, gerrard, take your pick, they were all poor. Kudos to our Jamie who I thought was fantastic after a slightly nervy beginning. Still, I can tell you for a fact that playing Joe Cole and Crouch from the start would improve that team massively.
That they certainly would. I'm hoping Capello will look to ring the changes now.

Whydoes Heskey play for England he is bad at football and is a reserve in club football. I wish he'd never existed.
Maybe they should have a remake of It's a Wonderful Life in which we can also see how different the universe would be if Big Emile had never existed.
it would be a nice christmas special. England don't beat Germany 5-1 in 2000, Germans start getting too big for their boots again... Result? THERMO NUCLEAR WAR! Thank you Emile.

Our pundit over here,Tony Cottee (yes, really) thinks that's the worst he's ever seen England play in the WC.

NOt sure if I'd agree, but it was terrible.

Hahaha

England are 100% still in it though. Just have to beat Slovenia and surely the team can't play this badly three times in a row.

Honestly, does Capello feel he'd get punished for sitting Lamps or Heskey? Is the FA pushing a Lampard/Gerrard partnership in order to avoid some sort of riot? And wouldn't he think at this point that the riot caused by not advancing is a larger and scarier mob than the chavs who want Fat Frank to play?

He'll never have a better chance than the next game to play a proper balanced 11.

Pity he left Johnson in Manchester.

Heskey was not even in the top 7 worst England players today. He isn't a striker anymore though, which is a bit of a problem since he's being played as one.

Crash and burn yer cunts.
Agreed

I don't know what to say about that to be honest.
I don't remember ever being this gutted about an England performance, or in fact seeing a worse one. So lifeless and pathetic.
The only people who come out of that with any kind of credit are Jamie Carragher and David James, both of whom were absolutely excellent. Every other player was laughable.

I can only think that Wayne Rooney is injured, it was such an abject display from him, his first touch was awful and there's was little effort from him. Lampard was shite, gerrard was shite, Barry meh, Johnson shite, Terry shite, Lennon shite, heskey shite. Where is Joe Cole? He's probably our most creative player!
I don't think heskey will play again, I think crouch should get his chance now. But I dunno.
All is lost.
🙁

Carra was shite first twenty mins, the fact he pulled himself into that performance is immense.

Gerrard was appalling. Rooney was appalling. Heskey was worse.

Fuck me, at least we know the cunts have to perform next match. All or nothing.

What is he then? An outfield keeper?
A forward harrier I'd call him. And not the Jump jet sort which would be pretty cool.
Eh?
As in he harries the opposition defence. And that is about it. Still he does it well, he'll just never ever score another goal for England.

I thought Gerrard was the only one in midfield driving forwards.
He did ok.

But every time the ball was lost, he just watched them gliding past him without the slightest effort to prevent it. That said, I agree, he wasn't awful.
