All Im saying is that it would have been as much use playing Stockdale upfront as there was absolutly no interest in attacking. Its just a timewasting sub. Had he got injured it would have been such a typical and meaningless apperance.

I don't know about papering over the cracks. I mean doubtless we were lucky last night, but that's now 11 away games unbeaten, 7 clean sheets in a row, and that without a player from United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal or Man City. I don't like the way we play, but you can't argue with the results.
