Reina is my favourite player after Gerrard, and I would be so gutted to see him leave. But I am getting sick and tired of all these stories about players threatening to leave every five minutes, I take the point that there are no quotes in the story, but there's no smoke without fire, this isn't a story in isolation, there have been several reports about Reina being unhappy since the summer, and unless there's a change in manager sooner rather than later, he probably will be gone. And Torres will soon follow for sure if Reina goes.

They can all get lost.

It was different with Xabi! He was pushed...ah forget it.

Like I said Mamma Mia, it's not the first story, so it's not so easy to disregard. And I'm not mental enough to buy into conspiracy theories about the media being 'out to get us'.
[/quote]

So don't disregard it then. It's still poor justification to slag off our players, especially the loyal, committed ones.

I wasn't suggesting a conspiracy theory.

Yeah in fairness, one of the reasons I'm more inclined to believe the second story is because there was no quick counter statement from Reina to the first one claiming it was mis-translated or whatever. This could be though, lets hope so.

According to Sky Schmeichel tips Reina for Old Trafford....

"The rumours are very, very strong around Old Trafford with this. A lot of goalkeepers are mentioned, but Reina seems to be the one that fits in the team and if he ever was to leave Liverpool, which again there is a big, big rumour he will, Manchester United would be a great club for him to come to.

"I hope that someone like Pepe Reina will go to United when Edwin calls it a day and I hear rumours that he is going to leave Liverpool so for him to go to Man Utd would be very, very good for us."

The mere thought of Reina at Old T makes my stomach turn....

I dont think Reina would join Utd in a million years.

So that's not a worry, in fact if he were to leave, it'd be back to Spain.

That's probably the least likely of potential destinations.

Oh wind your neck in, I wasn't 'slagging' anyone off. I stand by what I said, if players don't want to play for us, we should sell them. Simple as.

If he wants to go, let him go..I just hope he doesnt give some bullshit excuse about why he wants to leave.

But he doesnt want to go.

As for the media, when John Barnes signed for us the papers were full of stories about how he never wanted to sign but was using us to force a better offer from the London clubs. (which was bullshit)

(He actually wanted to go to the Continent) ;D

We'll see what Reina actually says before we bring out the pitchforks 8)

Hey, Peter....why don't you recommend Kaspar to Old Trafford?

players getting twitchy when we are underachieveing is perfectly understandable.

No ma'am. No problems here.

I'll just wind my neck in.

I think Roy will be gone before Pepe anyway.

According to Ben Smith at the Times, Pepe has not asked for a transfer or is agitated for a move. But is unsettled with the current situation at Liverpool.

OMG!!!! They said he's not leaving in Jan!!!!

That must mean he's leaving at the end of the season!!!!!!!

Fuck you Pepe!!!!!!!

I don't.

But I think Keniget is one of the biggest culprits in that department.

Which is a shame really as he's otherwise a good poster.

From Empire of the Kop

Pepe Reina is staying

By Antoine Zammit

Reina has been a hero many times for Liverpool FC
The Times is reporting that Pepe is staying at Liverpool and will not be leaving during the January transfer window.

The Times reporter Ben Smith also Tweeted about it.
@bensmith_times: That is not to say Pepe Reina is the happiest of campers at the moment, but he has not asked to leave

The story from the Times is available to subscribers only here

So apparently the story wasn’t true and Pepe is very upset about the rumour. There was also word that the club will be coming out with a statement about this shortly. This however does not answer the rumour earlier in the week which claimed that Reina would leave in the Summer transfer window. That window is far away however and many things can change until then.

It's the same with a couple of personalities at the club, the love the club, the fans, the history, the city yadda blaa but things are not going right for them at the moment and they are unhappy with the situation at the club.
When a player is unhappy at the club there are stories written about them then wanting to leave. Torres is unhappy and so is Pepe, as are a few other players I'm sure.
