Don't go breaking my heart!

I think it's a given that he won't leave in Jan, if he goes it will obviously be at the end of the season. I expect the statement will simply rule out a January move too.

I bet there isn't one happy camper in our club at this day and age.

Well perhaps apart from Lucas. He somehow seems beyond all this.

I hope and pray Pepe is doing this to put pressure on the owners to invest for success.

I think we've cultivated this image of all footballers being mercenaries who care nothing about the clubs they play for save the high salaries they're paid and the opportunities to play in the European Cup.

And yes, a very large number are precisely that.

But there are also small numbers who don't think like that, and my personal view is that one such footballer is Jose Reina.

We'll see what happens next season though.

The problem is, if he goes we're basically selling the best keeper around, whoever we bring in isn't going to be better.
And that's a fact.

No reason for keeping him if he wants out and it would free cash to bolster elsewhere but we'd be in a right pickle.

Neuer is an interesting shout. Lloris for me looks a world-class act and if Reina, and this would be the worst scenario, should go to United they'd probably not buy Lindegaard then and he'd be another very decent and cheap bet.

Hope it's bollocks though.
Free cash to bolster other place? It is not as we give up on playing with a goalie... and when looking how man u and arse to name a few have struggled to solve that position it tells me that all the cash will be needed to buy å new goalie with a greatinternational record, and worst of all we would probably still be worse off than now.

Don't you hate it when people are snidey but won't just won't say stuff directly?

99.99999999999999999999999% of 6CM do this.

Really?
I think SCM are generally pretty direct and call a spade a spade most of the time.
We dont call a spade for a spade. We call the spade for a cock. If it wasnt a cock we wouldnt have to call it names 😉

I've managed to quietly ignore all this Pepe crap. I doubt he's going anywhere, least of all Manure.

What do you think Mamma Mia is snidely insinuating about you, Anita? Come on, just say it instead of teasing us with these vague rhetorical questions.

funny how all the media are acknowledging that pepe is a quality keeper now that pepe wanting out stories have surfaced, before it was all about VDS and cech.

Legend! The Mirror is a fucking joke

Pepe Reina today dismissed media reports claiming he has told Roy Hodgson he wants to leave Liverpool.

The Spain international exclusively told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I have seen a newspaper has made this suggestion. It is completely untrue.

"I have not told the manager that I wish to leave in January, or at any other time. It is important our fans know this.

"I have a long-term contract at Liverpool and I am fully committed to the club.

"Our new owner met me and some of the other players last week and I was very happy with what he told me."

Reina, who has played in 18 of the Reds' 21 games this season, added: "The entire squad and staff are working very hard to get us back competing at the top of the table. We will not be distracted by inaccurate media speculation."

Haha Schmeichel. Fuck off!
He just loves to see us struggle and would love anything more than to steal our world class keeper.

And he's not even hiding it the cheeky sod.

Hmm I wonder where this story has come from? Because surely one of our most loyal, and least likely to leave at the moment, is Pepe Reina. He's just signed a new 5 year contract in April, is always talking about how he loves the club, is regarded as a future captain...

Fair enough if we hadn't been taken over, and were still saddled with Hicks and Gilette, or we were still bottom of the league and not on a good run of form. However, all of these aren't true. Hmm...

I don't get it. Most people would have thought it was a non-starter. So either it's all true, (which Pepe has already denied) or somebody is trying to unsettle him. I don't normally buy into the conspiracy theories that the media hates us, but I really don't get this story.

Erm, I don't think this is true.
It is, and has been widely accepted for some time that Pepe is one the best keepers in the world/premier league.

Or he made a little bit of noise about wanting improvement in the squad and it snowballed.

When has he said that, though?

All I can think of is that he doesn't get on with Hodgson, which there has been some evidence of. Even so, I can't envisage Budgie being here next season, so he should just sit tight, he'll deffo outlast him. If NESV have to make a choice between keeping key players, such as Reina, or the budge, I know who they should and probably would choose. And it isn't that saggy faced wind sock.

did you add that closing line in case NESV frequent the forum and might be confused as to what the popular choice would be? 😉

Haha I'm hoping the nickname catches on, instead of this obviously false "Peoples gentleman" gimmick Roy has got going on for himself.
