There's no evidence of any system - clubs like Southampton and Swansea have one. If they sell a player they simply replace him and the system stays the same.
If you lose two great strikers, one to another club and the other to injury, and your system now doesn't work you didnt have a system at all. Particularly when nobody else can score when you do play them.

With Rodgers we've had Can, Ibe, Sterling, Markovic all played out of position. Our young players have been put in tough spots repeatedly by a manager who had options to play others instead.

We had no style of play and we were always back peddling because someone lost the ball either by being outmuscled or by being plain poor. We couldn't keep the ball at all. Everyone just had to apply pressure on us and we will give the ball back. Then they run half the length of the pitch with no resistence and we go onto panic stations mode. How does BR expect us not to concede I have no idea.

We knew we didn't have Suarez. And we know expecting Sturridge to be fit for most of a season is unlikely.
And the lack of European football helped.

I think this is why we lost as heavily as we did yesterday. It was a statement from the players.
It all boils down to what Rodgers "plan" is to get more out of the current crop, address the destructive slide & malaise that has set in and identify, attract & keep top talent.
If his answer is confusing & constantly changing tactics, clueless defending, a mediocre Spanish right back, Benteke, Ings, Sturridge's hammies and a lot of faith in James Milner to "be Steven Gerrard", then we're probably fucked.

I do think people forget how dreadful we were under Dalglish. We finished that season with 10 (ten!!) points fewer than this disgrace of a campaign.
I'm regretfully coming to this view too. Earlier in the season I said I'd keep him even without top 4 provided we sustained decent form right to the end of the season, but after some wishy-washy displays the abject Cup semi-final against Villa brought me to the edge of wanting him gone, and the addition of that disgraceful capitulation against Stoke has pushed me over it.
I don't think FSG will sack him either.

Up to the Man Utd game, I was all for him - that was a desperately bad performance and things have got progressively worse since.

However, despite this, we probably should have made top four - I said a while back that we needed to hit about 72 points - and after the results against Spurs, Southampton & Man City we'd created a situation were it was actually possible.
We did the hard work, got the momentum going - then just flopped like a flaccid cock after too much excitement.
