Di Maria - how bad is he?

Di Maria is a class player and anyone who thinks otherwise needs their head checked.

LvG has been playing the guy all over the front line without allowing him to settle into one position.

One game he is on the left, next he is 2nd striker, then he is in behind, then he is on the right ... wtf?

Put him on the left or right wing, get the ball to him in high positions up the pitch in a 1v1 situation with a fullback and the guy will skin him alive - no doubt about it.

I'll point to Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal ... he has come in and been given 1 position & 1 role by Wenger, and he has excelled. Rarely is he been played out of position and thats why he has been a success throughout the season. I have no doubt Di Maria would be just as good for Utd if he was played in the right position.

Having said that I hope LvG keeps fucking him over, it'll only do us favours in the battle for a UCL spot.

Btw, Di Maria to PSG is well an truly on the cards still make no mistake about that. They still want him big time. And if LvG keeps this up they might just get their man.

Im actually more pissedoff with PSG propping up the financials of our rivals by making stupidly ridiculous bids.

Why cant the cuntz buy Balotelli for 20mil?

Slightly off topic, but Van Gaal's interview after the game.

Reporter: "Are you enjoying the rat race?"
Van Gaal: "Of course, especially when you win, especially when you win away, because that is for us not usual"

I know it's true, but does that seem like a really odd way for the Manchester United manager to word it?

His English isn't that great, makes you wonder whether he used the same language teacher as Steve McLaren

@cloggypop is right. Living in England is shit compared to lots of other countries and living in Manchester is even worse. The guy clearly hates it.

He never wanted to leave Real and if I recall correctly Ronaldo and perhaps one or two others didn't want him to go.

Cloggy is spot on. The age thing is bollocks.

Looks unhappy, didnt want to leave and will probably want a move elsewhere this summer.
Arguably Reals best player last season with Ronaldo.
Wasnt worth 60 mill but an excellent player.

Hopefully this thread wont result in him being the matchwinner at Anfield.

Fighting for 4th in PL isn't quite the same as winning La Liga and the Champions League, I don't care what the team you play for is called 😉

i always thought he was overrated at madrid - someone who ran a lot and technically competent which complimented the very skilful but not as hard working players. now he is wilting under the pressure of being the main man.

United most have the most lopsided squad in the league. A hugely expensive squad assembled badly by the looks of it. Overpaid old strikers devoid of variety, and then at least half a dozen left footed wingers/midfielders/defenders who don't fit into whatever system LVG is actually trying to deploy.

And Di Maria is one of several victims of that. He's a super footballer, like many players in that side, but they're a dysfunctional team. And right now they're winning games on the back of the odd piece of individual creativity as opposed to anything they're doing right as a side.

Di Maria is the least of their worries.

Would you say he is the ugliest player in the Premiership?

A while before he was sent off yesterday he did a blatant dive, rolled around for a bit and then got up with a big cynical grin on his face. Talk about karma!
