We need to make friends with the Chinese.

Sell our deadwood to them for astronomical fees and then use the money to buy a few really quality players.

Come on. Didn't anyone in our transfer committee play CM/FM before ?

No mate...it's the SPL. 40m for any player in the SPL is a joke.

Not to mention the fact he's 20 and only been there 1 season.

Might aswell put 40m to a world class striker like Lacazette
I normally would agree with that but hasn't this lad been absolutely outstanding all season? Even looked the deal in Champions League against way better opposition. When you have so much pace to burn and so many goals to your name at such a tender age you will always be a rather expensive player.

Wouldn't even be too surprised if he went to England and more or less had the same impact as he did in Scotland how weird that may sound when acknowledging the gulf in level between the two leagues.

Belotti replaces Costa, who goes back to Atleti next year imo ...

We should have gone for Dembele in the summer - missed opportunity. He's well out of our range now imo -
There's a whole ton of premier league clubs missed out here. For the price Celtic paid for him it would have been a no brainer to sign him based on his obvious promise at Fulham and loan him to Celtic or a Championship side for a season.

Dont think Belotti will move now so late in the window. The only ones reporting the interest are the shite rag and the Metro.
He's obviously a player we should be after aswell. He's very good.

Dembele could have been signed for 5 mill from Fulham. He was close to joining Spurs I think.

Townsend on the way back to Newcastle for 13 mill. Might give Palace some money to spend on Sakho..

Time running out for us to get Steven Caulker back on loan.
To this day still one of the weirdest transfer dealings we have ever made.

It's not even because I think he's amazingly bad or anything, we have certainly bought worse in terms of ability, but we got him in, placed him on the bench and even if any other defender on the pitch were ruined we'd still never give him any time on the pitch. And when we finally did it was as a striker..

Almost like we were deliberately taking the piss out of him.

I'm not sure about "outstanding" KHL, he's shown lots of promise but also missed a lot of easy chances. EVERY Celtic fan I know would snap Chelsea's hands off for £40m but a lot of them would happily take £25m for him as they're not sure he'll maintain his current rate of progress. From what I've seen I don't think he's worth any more than £20m-£25m and I still think there's every chance Lookman (at Everton) will eclipse him soon.

Every time I've seen him play I've been very impressed.

As always, it's hard to judge players in another league, even one so close, but if he can translate that to the Premiership then Chelsea have just got much stronger.

The thing that most impressed me is how strong he is on the ball. At the end of the game against Rangers he kept the ball by the corner flag to waste time almost singlehandedly, & won two free kicks & kept it there for about four minuets without anyone being able to take it off without fouling him. He's just as forceful when running with it too.

Some serious money being spent in the Championship.
Hogan to Villa for 15 mill and Wolves signing Costa for 13 mill.

Even through I was trying to be pessimistic and negative, thinking about it objectively you'd have to say Cassano would be a pretty big improvement upon Origi.

Stoke might create the midfield engine room of Lucas and Allen.

Sadly for Stoke fans the holy grail of the dynamic duo batttering all comers at the Victoria ground will remain a dream. Sadly for us Mark Hughes has said it ain't going to happen

If we decline their offer for Lucas, we're fucking stupid.
At the same time, I'm gonna be laughing my fucking ass off at the reactions here.

We're not gonna sell Lucas today. But he'll leave after the season, I think there is no doubt about that.

it'll be a real kick in the teeth when Lucas and Allen reform to become stokes dynamic duo

For about two games, till he had a brainfart and sank his teeth into the referee's throat or something.
