I sort of assumed that after the Falcao noise went away we'd see a top defender or two on their way to Old Trafford. I'm genuinely amazed there's not even a hint of a deal.

Just doesn't make sense?!

I hope for Lucas' sake he gets a last minute switch or he'll be very bored in Liverpool

Welbeck to arsenal apparently (sky sources)

Falcao to earn 346k pr week. A decent wedge.....

It is stupid, and they are stupid cunts, BUT, in their defence, they can afford it. If we could afford Messi, we could afford the fee and his wages, and he'd come, why shouldn't we buy him?
They're in a position where they're getting ridiculous levels of sponsorship money coming in without oil baron owners, and they can easily afford 50-100mill transfers, several of them, and can afford easily to put several people on 200-500k a week.

The only good thing at the moment is that they're buying all the wrong players. Can you imagine if they'd spent that 250mill on Hummels, Mangala, Moreno, Vidal, Strootman, Reus, Bale. Not good.

So is Manchester so much better a destination for flamboyant South Americans than Liverpool? I suppose 300 odd thousand a week makes most places livable.

Uruguay international defender Sebastian Coates has completed his move to Sunderland on a season-long loan

I like that he went on loan to an English team. Yes, his playing style might be better suited to Italy, but the fact is Italian clubs have no money, so if we want to salvage some money from this £6M investment, we should put him in the shopping window here in England.

Defoe wanting out of Toronto is mostly due to their manager Ryan Nelsen getting the sack this week. Nelsen played with Defoe at Spurs and was important in signing him to TFC.

@JamesOlley: Borini's deal to #QPR: Fee agreed with #lfc - £10m rising to £13m - but wages the issue. Player wants £90k-a-wk. Club offered £58k so far.

Fabio caring more about money then playing eh?!

Utd fan on talksport just now "unlike city a few years back at least we know they're coming for the club not the money"

Yeah, course they are.

Lol yeah pal, course they are. Even though Di Maria just said in the press that the only reason he left Madrid is because they wouldn't give him a new contract with more money.

How the hell does a toe-rag who's scored about 5 goals in the PL think he's worth 90 grand a week?

QPR surely realise he'll collapse in a heap after about five minutes of playing for them screaming like a girl.

My logic is he doesn't want to go and would rather stay here on less money. If he goes then he wants to make it worth his while, as he probably won't get another go at a big club
