Deadline day

Luis Suarez is back at Melwood...

.....picking up some items he left behind (Sky Sports).

Loaning players on deadline day to fix problems they should have fixed weeks ago or months ago

Players they don't actually need

When have QPR ever signed one of the best, if not the best number 9 in world football? If that's what QPR do, then we should try be more like them too.

Ha true. Comparing desperate manner

He has to prove himself.

If he was that good CL teams would have got him

Falcao is/was possibly the best "pure" #9 in the world. The problem is, even a great #9 can be relatively ineffective without a good supply line from the midfield and wings. Van Persie is more or less as good as Falcao and what did he do in the first 3 games this season? Not much. And Falcao, as good as he is, is not Messi or Suarez, he will not create goals out of nothing.

So I'm still not worried about United. It would have been much worse for us had Falcao joined Arsenal. Van Gaal is a great manager, but United's squad is too lopsided and of very uneven quality, he won't be able to make it work, this season at least.

I'm guessing we are going down the Chelsea/City route buying quality until something sticks. It is an expensive and longer route but if you have enough money it does eventually work.

You're owned by Americans who have to borrow and pay interest on every dollar they spend. Not oil billionaires. I couple of seasons out of CL and all of this can quite spectacularly explode.

Why last minute loans. Where is the plan

Ha United fans retweeting links that state a lower fee for Falcao. If money is no obstacle for then then why bother trying to manipulate the fee paid for him?

Falcao huh! I've heard of him. Annoying if they get someone who I've heard of.

Manchester City's Micah Richards is expected to end his 12-year stay at the club by joining Fiorentina.
Richards, 26, has arrived in Italy and is set to become the 24th Englishman to play for a Serie A club.

not sure how it will work out but fair fucks to him , british players need to try other leagues more often .

"The former Liverpool, Bolton and Swansea striker is on the verge of signing for Reims, who are currently second from bottom in the French top flight.
"N'gog is a free agent after being released by Swansea at the end of last season. He only made three appearances for the Swans and failed to find the back of the net."

the guardian are saying the falcao loan deal is 6m . hmm , that's not too bad at all . would he have worked in our formation ? mario is a striker but he is more mobile and can play in other positions , falcao would be right up front and not anything else .

Everything from 6-12 has been reported

More on United. I've seen this so many times in football and other sports: they assemble a team from the biggest names they can buy at a great expense. The rest of the positions are filled by cheap and mediocre players because after filling half of the positions with superstars there is no money left to upgrade these areas – and the thinking goes that the "superstars" will just win the games on their own, so it doesn't matter who plays in defense. Fans are excited, journalists all as one are predicting great things.

... By mid-season the team isn't clicking and to everyone's surprise they struggle with what was supposed to be their strongest point – offense. Everybody takes turns criticizing the manager. Man United of today is the NY Yankees of the last few years. They are a great bunch of names, but I can see this already – they will not "click." There is nothing that can bring Rooney, Blackett, Mata, Ashley Young, Fletcher and the on-loan Falcao together as a team, there is no connecting thread that can possibly bring them together. Di Maria will get tired of running and making space alone, while the likes of Mata and Rooney wait for the ball to come to their feet. I think they are also making a mistake if they let Welbeck leave of loan, as he is one of the few players who can "glue" this attack together (but him alone is not enough).

Two other journalists claiming arsenal didn't get him cos only offered 8m loan fee, so someone is wrong.
