Danny Fucking Ings

That video is more than a but cringy with all the motivational speeches, but yeh, can't wait for Danny to be back, any eta for his return? Cant help but feel hes made for a Klopp side, can't wait to see him in one.

Anyone know when he's likely to be back? I thought there was an outside chance that he would be available for some games this season? I'm sure Klopp said he was now training outside? Obviously it's not the be-all-end-all if he does play this season but I'd like to see him get a few games.

Such a shame he had the freak injury this season. He'd have played week in, week out otherwise with Sturridge out and Benteke out in the cold.

I hope he get's a fair shot considering all the comINGS and goINGS in the upcoming transfer window.

SchwINGS!

Was really impressed by him and thought he would be a star this season.
Hopefully it doesn't take him 12 months to get back to his level of intensity after the injury.
He's perfect for Klopps system

I just don't see the quality that a lot of you are seeing in him, but yes I love his attitude and work ethic.
Hope he's a success.

Neither do I, but he's proven goalscorer in the lower leagues and didn't cost us too much so he deserves time.

I am with @juniormember and @Modo - while it might be to soon to write him off completely I am pretty underwhelmed by him as a footballer.

Works his socks off and will probably score the odd goal too I just don't think he belongs in a team aiming for the top of the Premier League.

I also think he will be key for us, but I reckon he may be the next one to divide opinion for a few years and then when he leaves we will all agree that he was great.

He's only 23 as well, everytime I look at him I think he's much older, but the reality is that he's got many years ahead of him to improve and hopefully become a key player for us.

He reminds me, in one sense, of Craig Johnston. Not in term of talent or technique - Ings has somewhat more than Craig - but they're both incredibly honest and committed to improving themselves. You could have banned Craig from the training ground for a month and he would have returned fitter and better than before. He'd always be listening, thinking and trying something new to improve. Ronnie Moran would have to kick him out of Melwood in the evenings because he'd still be there working on training regimes he'd designed for himself. Ings strikes me as very similar in that particular respect. I think Klopp will come to regard him as a kindred spirit.

I'm not sure he will "divide" as such, but as a striker he will be judged on goals, and there's no real evidence that he can be prolific at the highest level. He scored 11 in his only season in the Premiership, which is OK, just less than one in three, and before that he had one very prolific season in the Championship, preceded by one in which he scored one goal every 10 games, 3 in total.

I do wonder how many games he will get to play in a central striking role, though, because his pace, work rate and style of play may well see him playing wider, or behind the main striker.

We shall see. I think many fans were a bit underwhelmed perhaps, but I was pleased to sign him, because what I saw of him last season was promising, and it looks like he has a fair few fans on here. He's young, hardworking, quick, clever and has talent. I think he could do very well given the opportunity.

If you weren't sold on him before, the prospect of a "post ACL Ings" may be even more cause for concern.... so; "young, hardworking, slightly less quick, clever and has talent."

You're going to be hugely surprised.

Agree with that. Work ethic is Kuyt-like, but with pace and a better first touch. Kuyt is probably a more intelligent footballer (very under appreciated), but Ings is very smart for his age and will only get better with age.

And, my, how we have missed Kuyt these past two seasons! Would have him as club captain now in a heartbeat.

He will create at least as many as he scores either with direct assists or through his movement creating space for Sturridge, Firmino, Coutinho, etc

Valid point. Hopefully cleverness compensates for quickness.

I'd rather have a front three that produced 30 goals a season between them, than have one 30-goal a season striker.

I don't know how anyone cannot see his quality, he began finding his scoring touch before he got injured. In fact I'm sure he would've been our top scorer had he remained fit with Sturridge out most of the season.

Well, I don't know. Name me one Title-wiining side that didn't have a striker in it who didn't score 20 goals plus.If your front three only score 10 goals each, you can't win the league.
