After the short loan stint with Norwich in the Championship, he was involved in a bizzarre loan deal with Atletico Madrid who in turn loaned him to Rayo Vallecano. Did not manage to get much playing time there either and it seems like Atletico Madrid did not take up the option to sign him up permanently.
