Unless they blitz out a month of games behind closed doors in, say, June, July, I can't see it getting done.

Even that scenario brings about its own problems. Can't see it happening. Also can't see the logic of finishing a season a year or more after it was meant to finish. They'd surely just scrap it.

Doubt it. While I admit to not being a purely objective observer, I'd have thought the potential avalanche of lawsuits which would then follow, from numerous clubs disadvantaged in a whole variety of ways, was bound to be something they'd be desperate to avoid, so finishing the current season should be a higher priority for them than starting a new one. If a season has to be scrapped it'll be what would otherwise have been the 2020/21 season, to give the authorities room to manoeuvre.

I don't understand why it'd be so unacceptable to finish the season late. I can totally see why fitting in the remaining 9 games during a new season would be difficult, but not why they couldn't just finish this one even a year down the line. Obviously it'd be highly unusual, but that's going to be the case whatever happens.

Bt & Sky are reportedly sitting down with the PL to work out details on a proposal to screen games on at Sat 3pm all at the same time using the red button.

That would doubtlessly mean it's easier to fit more games in, also no concessions for fans travelling to be made. I can envisage 3 games a week for 3 weeks.

I lashed out at a few Manc mates when they took the piss that the league should be voided this season. That was before I remembered that we lost out last season by a single point and I immediately am of the opinion that God can seriously fuck off now coz it's not funny at all.

He's a bad cunt, that Oliver Kay.

But yeah, they're gonna void it.

Best case scenario we can hope for is for them to award us the league out of pity.
IF they are talking about voiding the PL, we should tell them that if it is the case that we (LFC) will break away and form the European league that is being toted around, see how that sits with them

YES

YESYESYESYES

Fuck it, just get on with it

Latest EFL statement talking about difficult decisions being made.

Void imminent.

What's going to cost more, lawsuits from clubs unhappy about voiding the season? Or sponsors of scrapped cups, and TV companies and sponsors unhappy about empty stadiums and the new season not starting up when it should?

Genuine question.

The latest statement is about salaries and players benefits.

Why even contemplate starting a new season when everything is going to be fucked up for 4 years. It’s an opportunity to pull in staggered seasons to deal with the shitty World Cup.

Or, we could hold an online competition for the best players at FIFA 2019 in every PL, Championship, League 1, 2,3 etc. And do the same in every Country; and have them those individuals represent their Clubs in their areas, And the chosen winners would play the remainders of the games every three days, online; so we can all watch it (Thinking of the fans here) online and end the season that way with Clubs being promoted and relegated as normal... What do you think...? 😉

A snippet from an article in the Times today about what clubs will have to do about wages... It claims we currently spend 58% of our annual revenue on wages, par for the course among top clubs (man city spend 59%, Chelski 63%), but Everton spend 85.3%! Is that actually correct? It seems insane!

I’ve seen that figure elsewhere. They bought expensive crap players. It’s amazingly brilliant.

Yep. That's correct. It was brought up at their AGM. It's staggering.

I couldn’t think of anything more tedious than watching people play Fifa.
But yet there are people out there who make a living from others watching them play. When my nephew isn't playing Fortnite he's watching YouTube videos of it. The maniac.

They made the mistake of trying to hugely financially boost two managers on the bounce, even after the season where they spent loads and were going to win everything, but then when tits up because they'd barely made a decent signing. They're now paying the price of that, which is why I think they've spent big on the manager, rather than on players. It'll be interesting to see what Carlo has to spend in the Summer.

Not really, there has to be a reason why players would want to join a club that exists for the sake of existing and being crap every season.

I can't see a reason why ONE domestic comp can't be played to completion in a month but the trouble comes when you try to link multiple countries and add in other comps.

UEFA will be being battered on all sides; domestic leagues, domestic cups, Europa League, Champions league and the Internationals
