Robert Huth - Leicester (reportedly £2.5 million)

[article=http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/leicester-city-sign-robert-huth-2505048.aspx#sa3PqiPWkvJYJOfD.99]Leicester City are delighted to confirm the signing of defender Robert Huth from Stoke City for an undisclosed fee.

Huth joins the Club on a three-year deal and becomes City’s second signing of the summer following the addition of Austrian defender Christian Fuchs earlier this month.

The 30-year-old German’s move to King Power Stadium comes on the back of a string of stellar performances for the Foxes during a 14-game loan spell last season – displays which quickly endeared him to the City supporters.

Alongside Wes Morgan and Marcin Wasilewski, the 6ft 3ins German defender played a key role in helping guide the team to survival, and his presence for the 2015/16 campaign will certainly be welcome.

With power, pedigree and presence in defence, Huth and his defensive colleagues helped the team to an impressive five clean sheets from City’s final seven Premier League fixtures, and in the process underlined his undoubted quality.

As well as being a formidable opponent in his own box, Huth also carries a threat in attack, as he proved with his first goal for the Foxes against West Brom. His powerful header on 80 minutes at the Hawthorns levelled the score at 2-2 and set the stage for Jamie Vardy’s unforgettable winner.

In a career that began at Chelsea in 2002, Huth’s considerable talents have seen him secure two Premier League titles during Jose Mourinho's first spell at Stamford Bridge, as well as representing his country on 19 occasions, including during the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Huth made his Chelsea bow at the age of 17 under Claudio Ranieri, and despite initially finding his playing time limited as he battled it out with the likes of John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho for a place in the starting XI, he did enough to earn a move to Middlesbrough for a reported fee of £6 million in 2006.

During Huth’s first two seasons at the Riverside Stadium, injuries restricted his playing time, but he bounced back with some typically commanding and impressive performances in 2008/09.

Huth earned a number of Premier League admirers and his services were secured in August 2009 by Stoke, where he went on to establish himself as an important part of the team as well as being popular on the terraces.

Huth’s partnership with Stoke skipper Ryan Shawcross at the heart of the Potters’ defence has proved to be a solid foundation for success at the Britannia Stadium in recent seasons – becoming one of the most feared defensive pairings in the league.

In total Huth has almost 250 career appearances in the Premier League to his name, and now with the Foxes, he will look to re-establish himself as one of the most formidable defenders in the division.[/article]

[article]Cameroon's former international striker Samuel Eto'o is set to join newly-promoted Turkish side Antalyaspor from Sampdoria of Italy, the Turkish club said on Wednesday.

Antalyaspor finished fifth in the 2014/2015 Turkish First Division but won promotion to the Super Lig after winning the play-offs.

Clearly intent on making an impact in the Super Lig, Antalyaspor sent a private jet to Italy with executives to negotiate with Eto'o and then bring him back to Turkey.

"An agreement has been reached in principle with the footballer Samuel Eto'o," Antalyaspor said in a statement, adding the plane bringing him to Turkey would land in Istanbul Wednesday evening.

Financial details have not yet been disclosed.

Turkey will be the latest stop in Eto'o's eclectic career which has seen him perform for the likes of Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea.

He also played between 2011-2013 for Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala in the Caucasus region of Dagestan before the owner pulled the plug on its ambitions.

He had signed for Sampdoria only earlier this year.

The coach of the Antalya club in the popular Mediterranean resort, Yusuf Simsek, described the transfer of Eto'o as "very good and very useful".

"All the information and experience that he has accumulated will be transferred to his teammates," he told the Fanatik daily.

Simsek also revealed that Antalyaspor were targeting the former Barcelona and Brazil star Ronaldinho, saying talks with his lawyer and brother would be held in the next 1-2 days.[/article]

Hughton said, "We are delighted to have brought Liam in as our first summer signing. The exciting winger, who enjoyed a season on loan at Goodison Park in 2013/14, returns to Merseyside after the Blues agreed a fee of €6million with European champions Barcelona.

The 21-year-old will officially become an Everton player on 1 July.

Deulofeu has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract until the summer of 2018, with Everton having the option of a further year on the Spaniard’s deal. “We got to know him really well from his loan period, not only as such a talented player but also his great character. He will be a fantastic asset to our Club.”

[article]Swiss champions Basel say Austrian forward Marc Janko has joined on a free transfer from Sydney FC.

Janko signed a one-year contract with an option for a second season, the club announced on Thursday, the player's 32nd birthday.

The move brings Janko closer to home ahead of the 2016 European Championship being played in France.

Janko has scored three goals to help unbeaten Austria lead a qualifying group that includes Sweden and Russia.

The 1.96-meter (6-foot-5) player scored a spectacular overhead kick in a 1-0 win at Russia earlier this month.

Janko disputed Sydney's statement last month that his international duties in Europe were a factor in him leaving the club after one season in Australia.

In July, Basel will enter the Champions League's third qualifying round.[/article]

[article]Turkish side Fenerbahçe signs 28-year-old Brazilian striker Fernandao, who took the Turkish league by storm in the past year-and-a-half scoring 32 goals out of 46 games whilst playing for Bursaspor.

José Fernando Viana de Santana, simply known as Fernandao, arrived in the Istanbul Ataturk airport on Thursday morning and has agreed a four year deal with the “yellow canaries”. The striker was the league’s top goal-scorer last season netting in 22 and will be chasing Champions League glory with Fenerbahçe who finished the domestic league in second place.

The Rio de Janeiro-born striker spent much of his career in anonymity, having loan spells in numerous Brazilian outfits until he exploded onto the scene after joining Bursaspor in January 2014.

Fernandao is the latest piece of the puzzle as Fenerbahçe have sought to completely renew their squad for the next season, starting with the appointment of former FC Porto coach Vitor Pereira. The Brazilian striker on the other hand, will join recent signings which include former Bursaspor teammate, right back Şener Özbayraklı, in addition to Danish skipper Simon Kjaer. The Istanbul side is also chasing Manchester United’s out-of-favor Portuguese winger Nani.

The Brazilian goal machine will be presented to supporters in a ceremony on Friday.[/article]

[article=http://www.afcb.co.uk/news/article/tyrone-mings-afc-bournemouth-ipswich-town-2509228.aspx#A6HWt30JYDQHOe6u.99]AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Tyrone Mings from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old full-back, who was linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal last term, has signed a four-year contract.

As part of the deal, Scotland under-21 winger Ryan Fraser has moved to Portman Road on a season long loan.

Meanwhile, Brett Pitman, the club’s fourth all-time leading scorer with more than 100 goals, has also joined Ipswich for an undisclosed fee.

The 2014/15 season proved to be a breakthrough campaign for Mings, who has enjoyed a rapid rise following a move from non-league side Chippenham Town.

He made 44 appearances in all competitions, including a start against the Cherries at the Goldsands Stadium in November, as the Tractor Boys reached the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

Although Ipswich fell short in the semi-finals, he was a key figure in the side, won a number of admirers and was named as the division’s player of the month in September. [/article]

[article=http://www.itfc.co.uk/news/article/ryan-fraser-on-joining-ipswich-town-from-afc-bournemouth-2508713.aspx#aDUlLs9t1XOMDEJl.99]Ryan Fraser has told the Club website that one phone with Mick McCarthy was enough to convince him to join Town.

The Scottish winger joins the Blues on a season-long loan from Bournemouth, as part of the deal that saw Tyrone Mings depart Portman Road for the south coast.

Now the 21 year-old is raring to go at Town ahead of pre-season after speaking to the Blues boss.

“Well Eddie Howe spoke to me about the possibility of coming to Ipswich and whether I would be interested and I said I’d love to come here,” Ryan told the Ipswich Player HD.

“I then received a phone call from Mick McCarthy and we had a really good chat. We spoke for a little bit and he seemed a really good guy.

“He told me about the lads, told me about the town and the way he does things at Ipswich.

“That was all I needed to hear really and that’s me here now!

“I’m looking forward to the challenge ahead and getting stuck into pre-season training next week.

“Ipswich is a great Club and they were unlucky to just fall short in the Play-Offs but with hard work and a bit of luck, I think we can have a good crack at it again.” [/article]

Pitman, who has taken in three separate spells with the Cherries, arrives in Suffolk for an undisclosed transfer having helped Eddie Howe’s side lift the Championship title last season.

The 27 year-old has plenty of Championship experience, having spent time with Bristol City where he was a teammate of Town midfielder Cole Skuse.
