Felipe Melo - Galatasaray (€4m + potential €1m in add-ons)

Galatasaray have officially announced the signing of Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo in a deal worth €5m.

The Brazil international has spent the last two seasons on loan at the Turkish club, and it was unclear whether Fatih Terim’s men would re-sign the 30-year-old.

However, they have today confirmed that the combative midfielder will join them on a permanent deal, rumoured to be worth €4m plus €1m in add-ons.

Jermaine Beckford - Bolton (undisclosed fee, reportedly £1 million)

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of striker Jermaine Beckford from Leicester City.

The 29-year-old has joined the club on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee and will be reunited with manager Dougie Freedman, with whom he played alongside at Leeds United during the 2007/08 season.

Born in London, Beckford started his career as a trainee with Chelsea but learned his trade at non-league outfit Wealdstone, where he was able to boast an impressive strike ratio of better than a goal every game.

Leeds United won the race for his signature and in March 2006 he made the move to Elland Road. He was initially loaned to Carlisle United and Scunthorpe United, helping fire the latter to the League One title whilst netting the Football League Goal of the Year.

He became a regular in the Leeds side from the start of the 2007/08 season and will be fondly remembered by the club’s supporters for his winning goal against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the FA Cup third round.

In May 2010, Beckford’s impressive form persuaded Everton to bring the striker to Merseyside, but his spell at the Toffees was brief, moving on after 12 months to join Leicester City.

The following season, Beckford signed on loan at Championship new comers Huddersfield Town, making 22 appearances in total for the Terriers, including an appearance against Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium, featuring as a second half substitute.

Speaking about the deal manager Dougie Freedman said: “We have worked very hard in order to bring Jermaine to the club; it has been a long winded signing.

“It has been out in the press for the last few weeks but Jermaine is someone I know and I have previously played alongside him so I know his character.

“He is a goal scorer and in certain games that last season we dominated we weren’t clinical enough and that is what Jermaine brings.”

Ruben Perez - Elche (loan)

Newly promoted Primera Division side Elche have signed Atletico Madrid midfielder Ruben Perez on a season-long loan deal.

The 24-year-old Andalusian has spent the last three years on loan with Deportivo La Coruna, Getafe and then Real Betis, where he made 25 league appearances and scored one goal in the 2012-13 campaign.

A statement published on Elche's official website read: "The agreement reached for Ruben Perez to spend the next season on loan with the Franjiverde further strengthens the good relations between Elche and Atletico Madrid."

Elche, who will play in the Spanish top flight for the first time in 24 years after winning the Segunda Division, have already taken Sevilla duo Manu del Moral and Miroslav Stevanovic on loan, while signing defenders Cristian Sapunaru and David Lomban on free transfers.

Academy Manager Matt Crocker is to depart St Mary's to take up a role at The Football Association, Southampton Football Club can confirm.

Crocker will move to The FA later this year to start work as Head of Coach & Player Development, a senior position created under the new FA Strategic Plan.

Matt, who has been at the Club for the past seven years, was headhunted as a result of his fine work in helping to establish the Saints Academy among the most prolific producers of English footballing talent.

The Welshman will work with new Director of Elite Development Dan Ashworth, and will be responsible for The FA's contribution to the Elite Player Performance Plan.

Last June, the Saints Academy became one of the first to achieve Category One status under the EPPP in recognition of the quality of its facilities and the number of players who have progressed to first-team level.

Matt will assist in the recruitment process for his successor and will ensure that a full handover period is completed before he departs to apply his expertise on a national level.

Executive Chairman Nicola Cortese commented: "Matt will leave us with the best wishes of everybody associated with the Club. He has given Southampton seven years of hard work and dedication, and played an important part in developing the Academy that we have today.

"Although we are sad to lose a talented member of staff, it is an honour to see the work of a Southampton employee recognised by The FA. We are ranked as the best Academy for producing players for the English national teams, so it is no surprise that they have turned to Matt for this vital role.

"We will take great pleasure from seeing a former Saint working for The FA and know that he will be a great asset to the future development of English youth teams.

"The vision that we have initiated at Southampton over the past four years has been imprinted on Matt and, by carrying those principles with him, he will guarantee the future success of English football for years to come.

"Matt will be hard to replace, but we expect serious interest from exceptional candidates who will be desperate to work for an Academy with a reputation such as ours."

Florent Malouda - Trabzonspor (free transfer)

Former Chelsea midfielder Florent Malouda has signed for Turkish club Trabzonspor, having been released by the Premier League outfit at the end of last season.

The 33-year-old was linked with several other English clubs but none were willing to take a risk on the French international.

Malouda was the final signing of Jose Mourinho's first reign at Chelsea where he often lined up alongside fellow France international Anelka.

Chelsea paid £13.5million for Malouda in 2007 but he only made one appearance last season under Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez.

He came on in the 2012 Champions League final as a substitute when Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties.

Maicon - Roma (free transfer)

Brazilian full-back Maicon has joined Roma from Manchester City on a permanent deal.

The 31-year-old joined City last summer from Inter Milan but struggled to win a regular place in the first team, making only 11 appearances during last season, just four of those in the league.

The move back to Serie A was confirmed on City's website this morning and the club said: "Everyone at Manchester City wishes Maicon good luck at his new club."

Maicon found competition from Pablo Zabaleta and Micah Richards for that right-back spot too strong.

New City boss Manuel Pellegrini said at the weekend that Maicon was not part of his plans and the Brazilian did not take part in the pre-season tour of South Africa.

Pellegrini said: "Maicon didn't come here to the pre-season and he will not be in the squad at Manchester City this year."

Alvaro Negredo - Man City (reportedly £21.5 million with potential £3 million add-ons)

Sevilla announced Negredo would join City, pending a medical, and held a farewell press conference for their star striker on Wednesday evening.

Negredo, who scored 25 Primera Division goals last season and whose transfer will cost an initial fee of £21.5million but could rise to £24.5m with add-ons, said on the club's official website: 'I think in football there are stages. For four years I have been very happy, but I think my time was here over. I am happy to go to a big team.'

The 27-year-old paid an emotional tribute to Sevilla for 'four fantastic years' and added: 'For me this will be my home for a lifetime.'

But he revealed he was relishing the chance to link up again with Jesus Navas, who has already moved to the Etihad from the Andalucian club.

He said: 'I am happy to be spending another year with him.'

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido earlier revealed Negredo would sign the 'contract of his life' at City.

He said: 'Manchester City are buying a great player, the top-scoring Spaniard in La Liga. This is a big deal for Sevilla, the second most important in our history after we sold (now-Barcelona full-back) Daniel Alves, and the player will sign the contract of his life.

'Everyone should be happy; it is a great deal for all three parties.'

Jose Campana - Crystal Palace (undisclosed fee, reportedly £1.75m)

Crystal Palace Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of Spanish youngster Jose Campana, subject to Premier League and FA clearance.

The 20-year-old midfielder has put pen to paper a four-year deal at Selhurst Park, after the Eagles agreed an undisclosed fee with La Liga side Sevilla.

Campana featured on more than 50 occasions for the Spanish outfit’s ‘B’ team, before making his senior debut as an 18-year-old in a 2-1 win over Malaga in August 2011.

He featured 15 times in La Liga during his first full season, with Sevilla going unbeaten in Campana’s first eight matches for the club – a run that included a 0-0 draw away to Barcelona. They went on to finish ninth in the league.

Having featured three times for Spain in the 2011 UEFA Under-19 European Football Championships, Campana starred again for his country in the 2012 tournament in Estonia, where he captained the side to a 1-0 final victory over Greece.

Campana played five league games for Sevilla last season, but his campaign was cut short by a fracture to his left foot.

He recovered from injury to captain the Spanish squad at this summer’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup. But despite winning all three group games, including a 2-1 win against eventual tournament winners France, Spain were knocked out by Uruguay at the quarter-final stage.

Campana’s displays at the tournament led to him being coveted by clubs across Europe, after he decided not to sign a new contract at Sevilla. And the starlet has now opted to sign a long-term deal at Palace, which will keep him at Selhurst Park until the end of June 2017.

Speaking exclusively to Palace Player via an interpreter, Campana said: “I’m delighted to become a Crystal Palace player. Over the last two years, I’ve had some problems with my hometown club, but I’m really excited to play in the Premier League.

“I think it’s a good step for me and I’m really excited and looking forward to meet all the boys and start as quickly as possible.

“I got the first interest through my agent, who said that Crystal Palace were interested and straight away I said ‘yes’ because for me it was a dream to play in England, especially in the Premier League. I hope to help the team stay in the league and then move forward.

“What I like to think are my best qualities are to keep the ball and to have good distribution. I have always been a typical Spanish midfielder and I like to move forward and score goals.

“I scored a lot of goals when I was in the academy at Sevilla. That’s what I want, but especially to keep the ball and to organise the team.”

Palace boss Ian Holloway said of his new signing: “I’m absolutely delighted. Everybody knows the way I want to try and play football and how fantastic Spain have been over the past few years, so I’m delighted to get a lad of this quality.

“I think he’s a fantastic player, his maturity is unbelievable, and the way he plays the game is the way I believe it should be played. He’s going to be a great star of the future and the present.

“We’re going to try and do as well as we can in this division and making signings like this is really going to help us.”

Ezequiel Cirigliano - Verona (loan with option to buy)

Newly promoted Verona have confirmed the capture of Ezequiel Cirigliano from Argentine side River Plate.

The 21-year-old has joined the Stadio Bentegodi outfit on a loan deal, but Verona have the option to sign him outright at the end of the season.

The midfielder will be presented to the media this afternoon.

Cirigliano, an Argentine youth international, has been likened to compatriot Javier Mascherano in the past.

New Verona signing Ezequiel Cirigliano says he wants to follow in the footsteps of Barcelona and Argentina ace Javier Mascherano.

The Argentine midfielder was presented to the media on Thursday after the newly promoted club agreed a loan deal with River Plate.

“Mascherano is my role model,” the 21-year-old commented. “One day I hope to reach the level he has in the game.”

Cirigliano has been linked with a number of Italian clubs in the past, but he admits he didn’t feel ready for Serie A.

“I had a number of opportunities to move to Italy before, but I preferred to stay in Argentina and mature,” he continued.

“But being here now is a dream and I want to express myself as best I can. I hope to stay for some time to come.

“I’ve spoken to Roma’s Erik Lamela [a former River Plate teammate] about the championship here and I know it is complicated.

“The level is very high, but it will be fundamental for me in my growth as a player.”

Kevin Strootman - Roma ( €16.5m, plus performance-related bonuses up to €3.5m over three years.)

New Roma signing Kevin Strootman says he was advised to move to Italy by former Milan midfielder Mark Van Bommel.

“Mark was the man with experience of Italy,” the 23-year-old told De Telegraaf.

“He told me how great the passion of the fans was, how special the atmosphere in the stadiums was and how there was a totally different football culture.”

“I will train every day with top players and get to play against the likes of Inter, Milan, Juventus and Napoli,” he continued.

“What counts for me is the number of big games I am going to play here.”

The midfielder has signed a five-year deal with the capital outfit.

Roma boss Rudi Garcia commented “Strootman is a high level player. He’s very technical and he asks for the ball. I like his determination, his desire to win and his leadership.

Oscar Ustari - Almeria

16870.jpg

La Liga new boys Almeria have completed the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari.

The 27-year-old has been snapped up from Boca Juniors and becomes the Andalusian club’s sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of defender Sebastian Dubarbier, midfielders Marcos Tebar and Sudo, and forwards Rodri and Cesar Diaz.

Ustari is no stranger to La Liga, having played for Getafe between between 2007 and 2012 after a €4m move from Independiente.

However, for much of his time with the Madrid-based club he struggled with form and fitness and returned to his native country before the start of last season to join Boca.

A full international who has represented Argentina twice, Ustari has penned a two-year deal with Almeria.

Marcos Tebar - Almeria

marcos%20tebar%20presentacion.jpg

Almeria have completed the signing of 27-year-old midfielder Marcos Tebar.

The former Girona man played an essential part in the Catalan side’s play-off campaign and featured in over 100 official games for the club, however, his time has come to an end as he opted to join La Liga side, Almeria.

Tebar began his career with Real Madrid and featured for the B-team in 94 matches, making just one appearances for the senior side in 2009 when he came on against Osasuna.

So Sevilla sold all their prized assets it seems this summer.

Negredo, Navas and Alberto.
