I do wonder, is there a buyer out there that people will be happy with?

Are all middle-eastern countries considered "oil/blood" money? Or is there a middle eastern country people consider "okay"?

If we got a Glazier type buyer, would people be happy?

If we got another FSG, would people be happy?

If we got an Abramovich, would people be happy?

Like, if the game has gone, shouldn't we just hope we got the richest, least intrusive ownership (who feigned like they understood LFC traditions)? Shouldn't we hoping for an owner who can have us on a level playing field with City, Newcastle, Chelsea, even Arsenal (who have got far wealthier backers)?

Or is part of the mystique of LFC that we need to be the underdog? That being on a level playing field and winning everything isn't part of our DNA? That's for the likes of PSG, City, Chelsea and Real Madrid (who have had decided financial advantage over us for years).

Would people prefer to not get new owners and continue to rely on the genius of Klopp, and hope he stays overperforming for the next 10-20 years; hoping we can win another title in 20 years? But at least that title will be won "the right way"?

There isn't a middle Eastern country or owner ppl will be happy with.. and I agree with them.
I don't want to be owned by Qatar as they try and build on the legacy of their world Cup.
Or any other Arab nation trying to compete with their Arab cousins with the greatest club in the world as a plaything.

At least FSG kinda got it, we were sold the moneyball model, the history, soul, heritage of Boston Red Sox.. it was akin to the real hard graft working class roots, the docks, the immigrant history, the glory days being brought back.

To me at least it was beautiful.
In this world of excess & money & status we had a link and connection with the ground, Fenway and Anfield iconic, hallowed turf.
We got our underdog manager, we had our underdog players turn world class overnight.
We had/have humble players, grafters who got it.. who connected.

I doubt we'll find someone like that now, they'll have to compete, Klopps probably burnt out like the players having to punch up constantly.
And FSG promised the league, delivered it with a champ league and a few cups.
So they'll pass it on.. or dilute their share.

And we'll offer Mbappe 1.5million a week while offering Messi another 2mil to whip Derby in the league Cup.

Liverpool football club represents the great city of Liverpool. If it were to become the next sportswashing project it would be an absolute travesty.

I wouldn’t trade away the identity of the club for a bottomless pit of money to compete with state owned clubs in the league.

Also, is there anyone who thinks the wheels are already in motion and its a case of due diligence and just the details.
I feel like they've already got the discussions underway and potentials and just waiting to see if there'll be counter offers etc

What if that middle eastern prince was a well known Liverpool fan? Is that still considered sportswashing?

And if the choice was between a Middle eastern buyout and a Glazier type buyout, which one would you take?

And if neither, then are you happy with FSG? And should we stop bashing JW Henry for not investing his money into the club?

It's a fucked if you do fucked if you don't situation. As there's no kind of controls around financial doping we're in a situation where FSG can't or won't compete financially with the rich kids. I refuse to call them big clubs, they're not just the obnoxious rich kids whose daddy bought them a pony or rather a herd of them. Do I want some sports washing cunts at the helm? Do I fuck. Do I want to see us unable to compete going forwards and eventually decline? Do I fuck. Give me a choice though I'd rather keep our social identity than be another rich billionaires front for their lack of morality. And, let's face it, if you're a billionaire you've not got there by playing nice. None of it matters though as we'll unlikely have a say in any of it and there's a list of fans who'll accept anything to be able to compete

Yup.
And also we are all legacy supporters now.
We don't matter anymore.

What do the kids want, they'll be bringing in the money, watching the social media content etc.

100% they'd never have gone public with this unless there was concrete interest at a somewhat advanced stage.

Just hope it's not that Elon cunt

I'm just going to throw this out there... If FSG do sell up then that's up to them. As far as I'm concerned they have been very cool owners. Amazing in fact. Considering the position we were in under (and to the end of) the H&G era - It was a fucking miracle and a massive stroke of fortune FSG stepped up. They did.... Massively. The super league thing is a blot on their ledger sure but on balance..... Great owners. I hope (and have a smidge of faith) and believe that they won't just sell us to some cunt with a fat wallet who couldn't give a shit about LFC and it all means. I guess..... We'll just have to wait and see.

First 20 seconds of that andrew tate video is him complaining that a trans person is reading to children.

I'm sorry, what?

Reading a story to someone is not propagating a world view. It's showing the kids that there are different people in the world. I'd rather my kids get read to by a variety of people, so they are exposed to all types of people, rather than what is in my own little bubble.

School is all about broadening the mind, why is he against it?

I really don't belive these 5 year old kids are wondering if this trans person has a dick or not. Why the fuck should a grown man care

Then he goes on to say gay people shouldn't be near kids, in case they try and turn the kids gay.

At least Alex Jones said it was only the frogs turning gay ffs.

He's a misogynistic, hateful person

What bothers me more than anything is that I can't shake the feeling that the these people are not saying what they are saying because of a genuine moral or deep-seated subconscious opposition or discomfort with homosexuality or the idea of someone being transgender – rather they are whipping up the flames of the culture war in order for themselves to get rich, famous or both.

It's one thing for someone to espouse so-called "traditional values" due to one's upbringing and culture – these types of people can and often do evolve towards greater acceptance (if they find themselves in an environment where they get to actually meet some gay or trans people). But in the West a kind of reverse evolution seems to be happening for some. I know fuck all about Andrew Tate, but here in the US some of the politicians pushing the lies and hate towards trans people and others are actually perfectly nice to gay and trans people in their personal life. Trump's psycho lawyer Giuliani dressed up as drag queen himself (and was photographed together with smiling Donald), Dick Cheney was accepting of his gay daughter, some of these haters are actually openly gay themselves – but they know they constantly need whip up hatred against some minority group in order to continue their grift and so they do. They don't actually hate or fear gay and transgender people in their life, but they create pain and suffering for countless people just so they themselves can make a living off it, just as a way to get attention. It's all just a deeply cynical act and a grift and I can hardly think of anything worse, any less honourable way to make a living than this.

You say that now…. But will you say it when you’re forced to wear a Viking helmet while watching all games!!!!

I don’t mind wearing one. It’s the guy sitting in front of me with a huge horned hat that’s going to be a problem!

Nah, 8th is not at an excellent place.
And we are there because they have been stingy cunts the last year and a half, not reinforcing from a position of strength like winners should do,
So we are finishing 8th are we? Just pick a moment in time and that's the state of the club? Ignore the fact we had a string of injuries a mile long?

If we hadn't been so damn good last season (and as a result so mentally and physically overloaded this) and had so many injuries in midfield, we'd almost certainly be in the Top 4 and maybe even much better than that. It's disingenuous to state we are '8th' as if a photograph of our present league position represents the club's actual standing. Sorry mate.

It also remains to be seen if the media jumping in with clickbait and issue selling headlines of 'Liverpool for Sale' is accurate or if it's as FSG have stated, looking for new investors for a part share.

An article in the Boston Globe - which Henry owns - says they're open to a sale

I'm going to severely out myself here.

I want very rich, very smart and very ambitious owners.

I mean, I don't want murdering bastards who shoot their family members out the sky and bomb cities. But most sports owners are evil capitalists in it for the masturbation / sports washing value, and I'm fine with that.

Or they have an offer in the advanced stages but it's kinda shitty so they're trying to flush out competing bids?

Like most, I don't really want us sold into a scandal narrative entity.

All these people saying "there's no difference between a middle eastern entity and US entity" are vastly wrong.

Its likely no billionaire is nice, but absolute monarchies are a notch above in the human rights abuse stakes.

I don't actually think we have an offer on the table.

They probably looked at how much Chelsea sold for vs valuation, and think.. let's see..

They may eventually say "no sale" again.

Points from that:

- FSG willing to do an outright sale
- no sale imminent
- presently at evaluation stage. Might take time, perhaps even a couple of years
