If I offended you, I apologise. But I think you missed the point I was making.

Some of what I said I don't necessarily believe in, but what I was doing was showing the other side of the coin. That in places like the Middle-East and even in some "democracies" like South Africa, Nigeria or Uganda; there's a prevailing thought that the West is far too liberal and the balance is off. There's many people who don't see or agree with everything that's done in the West; and guess what, that's OK too. Not everything in the West is virtuous and the "right" way to live. People have their own cultures and customs; we shouldn't necessarily look down on them as a regressive culture because they don't believe what's believed in the West.. nor can we say they are wrong, or they are immoral, or their money is any worse because of their beliefs. That was my point; they could equally look at different things happening in the West as immoral/wrong, whether you think their thoughts are nonsense or not.

Now having said that, you can argue, why would they invest in a club, which is located in a land where they don't share the same beliefs? Well, probably the same reason why businesses/investors in the UK/US go to their lands and invest, even if they don't have the same culture/customs - money? prestige? politics?
No offence was taken, I just don't want this chat to go down the geopolitical culture wars route that pretty much all threads in the general chat descend into, just because I pointed out the abhorrent flaws of the only nation states likely to buy us, and stated I have no interest in our club being associated with that.

I’ve heard (from an old colleague now working at the FT) that it’s Ratcliffe who has immediately made his interest known to FSG - looking to build host own Red Bull type empire.

Hope not he's a Man U fan I believe

"Lifelong Man Utd fan", according to an interview he did when he was interested in buying the club. But also had Chelsea season ticket when he lived in London.
Think he would be a great owner though.

Think he would be a great owner though, sadly.

Didn't stop him from bidding for Chelsea.

Think he'd be a great owner. A 70 year old Utd owner knows what football should be about.

£4bn, they're asking for LFC. No way Ratcliffe could afford that on his own - mind you what the fuck do I know. I don't know how much that Brexit cnut has locked away. I really don't care who the fuck it is, as long as he can get players like;

The Georgian who plays for Napoli, Ramsey from Aston Villa or Jude Bellingham, Ruben Neves and a RB. That's £250-300m on 4 players.

Yeah, I edited that in after reading a bit about him. Had a season ticket at Chelsea appaz.

His bid for Chelsea was £ 4,2 bn.

He's richer than Abramovich

I hear former Microsoft CEO Steve Balmer is one of the richest men in the world and owns a sports team in the states he would be perfect for us. Someone who has fuck you money like Roman but without any side baggage.

Time for some Iranian madfuck to jump on board and buy the club.

Then sign up some players from their own country like a big fuck off X-Factor (football themed televised competition) with Ahmedillijad judging the whole thing and then the winner turns out be Shi'ite

It would be mildly amusing if Jeff Bezos bought us. You could just hear the collective out break of inward screams of pain every time an opposing fan bought something on Prime. Knowing their purchase is funding the mighty reds would crush the soul of every Manc in the land.

What are the chances that the Duke of Westminster throwing his hat into the ring? They own Liverpool One. However, as wealthy as they are, its all tied to assets. I remember a documentary on the family back in the 90s. The Late Duke ha a trial at Fulham, but his father didn't approve, instead went to Sandhurst. His son and the incumbent Duke of Westminster was sporting a Liverpool top

My only concern with Ballmer is he isn't exactly the kind of guy who subtly operates in the background, could get a bit cringe.
