Chelsea Post Match Goodness..

Other than being stuck in work, I like Friday night football.

Great way to start the weekend and night football is always better.

Mignolet – 6.0. Injected needless nervousness with the ball at his feet, other parts of his game were OK though. Still doesn't look like he's going to keep Karius on the bench for much longer.
Clyne – 6.5. Had to be very disciplined and alert to keep Hazard quiet, did what he had to do.
Matip – 7.5. Almost a perfect performance, great calmness and leadership and his heading ability also makes me feel much calmer about set pieces and high balls into our penalty area. You could argue if he went to ground too early for the goal, it's debatable – I think the far bigger mistake was Hendo and Lallana not tracking the run of Matic.
Lovren – 8.0. Great goal and faultless defending.
Milner – 6.5. Willian and others certainly tested him and at times his wrong-footedness was exposed as a weakness when he allowed several dangerous crosses from his flank. He did his best though and was very good in all other parts of the game.
Henderson – 7.5. +.5 for the amazing goal, -.5 for not tracking Matic. A captain's performance.
Wijnaldum – 7.0, His best game for LFC so far – the passing in the first half was incredibly sharp and incisive and he almost never lost the ball. Got some kind of injury in the 2nd half, but played through it, until he was substituted.
Mane – 7.0. The usual pace and work-rate, but no decisive moment for him today.
Coutinho – 7.0. Good performance overall and added an assist, but like Lallana he needs to learn not to lose the ball in dangerous areas. I really like that he is starting to come deeper more, I think it might be a precursor to him moving to CM some time this season.
Lallana – 7.5. Superb energy and invention throughout.
Sturridge – 7.0. Looked in the mood in the first half, but got some kind of physical issue in the 2nd which prevented him from making sprints and led to the substitution.

SUBS:
Origi 6.0 Can I just take issue with @manwithnoname's post in the match thread? Origi is a young player who won the crucial Dortmund game for us last season and scored other important goals – he doesn't deserve the venom directed towards him. Could have won the game for us, except for a phenomenal save by Courtois – I can't remember the last time I saw a goalkeeper save a header down low.
Lucas 6.0. Gave up his usual free kick on the edge of the area. Apart from that OK.
Stewart n/a
Matip – 7.5. Almost a perfect performance .......
Lovren – 8.0. Great goal and faultless defending.

Only a 7.5 & and an 8 ? Tough crowd !

If we had beaten Burnley everyone would be talking about us as title challengers, i don't think any see yet even with our great start.

A blessing perhaps?

I wonder how Woland's mate Clive is taking this one.

Hopefully he's crying his eyes out, the twat.

Don't forget I'm 69. At my age I can't be too picky.

My dream shag would be Professor Alice Roberts.
I read one of her books, it was quite interesting.

For your information, she's actually older than what she looks. You know, just in case you find a lamp with a genie in it and he grants you a wish.

Definitely a blessing, let the media keep talking about Mancester whilst we fly under the radar, that's fine by me.

Bit of a statement that. We are a good side.

Not dependent on any one or two players anymore either - Firmino is awesome one game then doesn't play the next and we are equally as good.

YAY.

Lovren was my MOTM. Which seems weird given how much stick ive given him over the years

I had Wijnaldum, Henderson and Matip before Lovren.

Possibly Milner too

I thought Milner was excellent. He played a big part in slowing things down and helping us recover after the goal. He was ace.

Best game so far from Wijnaldum. He was boss. Fucking boss.
thank you - exactly why I think we bought him now - it all adds up - he was brilliant today the way he controlled ... Chelsea !!! Fuck Kante, and Burnley - but Oncey is right - it kinda sticks !!!

Daniel Sturridge's early second half withdrawal against Chelsea was a tactical change and not an injury, Jurgen Klopp has revealed.

Sturridge, selected to lead the attack at Stamford Bridge, was replaced by Divock Origi on 56 minutes.

The striker exchanged high-fives with the bench before heading down the tunnel.

“I could see that Daniel couldn't sprint any more, and we had a healthy young striker on the bench, so I thought we should use him,” said Klopp.

“The first half was really good from Daniel, but we needed this player there in the centre that we could play with, and play in behind and push up with.

“It's not an injury, it's just a situation. Nobody told me about an injury.”

It seems harsh picking out individual players because everyone played well and it was a real team performance.

Other teams aren't playing us very smart, specifically Leicester and Chelsea. Leicester played into our hands and Chelsea didn't increase their tempo enough when we were tiring. Their are persistent flaws with our approach, but the defense was tight enough, individual mistakes were reduced and Mignolet didn't have a howler. When we can tick all of them boxes I'd back us beat anyone.

The negativity towards Origi is just weird.
Very talented player. And a young lad aswell.
Origi was brilliant last season until he got knocked out by that Everton player wank. Once he gets in the swing of things - he will be excellent, and I thought he did quite well when he came on so whatever is going on terms of people slagging him off - it should be just ignored.

Matip is so classy on the ball, comfortable in possession. Bargain of the season

I certainly have! More than once.

I followed her for a while on Twitter but gave up because her tweets were all about bloody osteo-archaeology. I think Rosco has a point, but I still think she has the air of a friendly hippy girl about her.
I'm a big fan of friendly hippy girls
