Capello resigns

Status
Not open for further replies.
Capello never really cared about the position. His English was shocking and he went on many holidays throughout the year.

He has had some good results recently but he failed when it mattered. Like FFF said, we need to start building towards the future, blooding in players like Sturridge, Chamberlain, etc, so we'll be competitive in a few years.

We have a blind loyalty to a load of sheer cunts who have won fuck all, who everyone hates. It's time to move on.

Rafa would be a decent choice, IMO.

we're coming down to ross arguement that managers make fuck all difference. well I don't believe that and if I did what's the point of watching your national team if you think they are going to do fuck all?
Which is exactly why I don't like our national team

From grass roots up, english football is fucked. It needs to be rebuilt with different emphasis, Primarily one of team work. There aren't many english players who are decent team players.

England don't win, change manager.

I do believe managers make a difference, but in this case it's more likely the system is wrong.

a) we have some of the best players in the world.
gerrard, rooney, ashley cole.

b) we have very talented youngsters.
whilstere, young joe hart.

c) we play in one of the best leagues in the world.

d) we play the manager millions

I expect england to at least reach the knock out phase of a major competition, entitlement maybe but we pay enough for it.
if that manager can't deliver that then fuck him off and bring in a manager that can.

Germany have appeared in 14 major finals, England only one. Ergo you should get a German manager!
and German players*

*I can heartedly recommend this strategy as Northern Ireland managed to get Maik Taylor who has been fantastic for us

A) behave. Gerrard has dipped and only rooney is actually world class (well...cole is too)
B) joe hart and wilshere are talented...who else? Chamberlain is still learning...other than that, who could be world class? And did you say "young joe hart" or young and joe hart. Because young isn't young anymore.
C) and this league is only as good as it is due to imports. There's only a handful of english players who could get in the french team, let alone the spanish
d) irrelevant.

We think we're better than we are.

Redknapp will pick the likes of Lampard, Ferdinand, terry & all the other old guard who have won fuck all.

We need to blood young players, & I don't think Harry will do that.

Rafa is the better choice in every way imaginable. In fact, mourinho is the obvious choice, rafa second. The media are obsessed with him being English cos 'we've tried foreign managers & it didn't work', well you ignorant myopic cunts, we've tried English managers & that didnt work either.

The job should be based on how successful the manger has been, inc working with other managers players & winning. Rafa tops that quality.
here I agree. But this means that the FA should all of a sudden grow ballas and a brain, and the media should not go bananas the first day and start to hunt down the poor Rafa. If only one of those factors are valid the whole idea will not work. Hence, no point. The media will never ever give someone else than Arry the respect needed to do the job. And even he will balance a thin line even before he starts the job.

Apparently Rio has tweeted that Harry should be the next manager as well.

The FA are just waiting for the seal of approval from Ferguson before confirming Redknapp as their next manager.

Fergie agreed with capellos standpoint and criticised the FA

if the world was just and fair fergie just burnt his bridges

The England manager should be English. I think all nations should have a fellow countryman in charge. Harry will do ok and there's no one else to even give him competition. Where are all the good young English managers? Seems like they dried up years ago.

I may be a bit harsh on on capello (see even used his proper name) but when england were losing the plot v germany he did nothing to address inevitable exit. we were being over run through the middle, the centre backs were being pulled out of position, the strikers were being left isolated. I think even a basic tacitcal change would have at least ATTEMPTED to address the problems we were facing. he did nothing, what, the problems were going to sort themselves out? my master plan is to...nothing...

look at rafa's tactical changes in the CL final.

Thats a valid point. Is the pressure that high? Are they given enough time to get through ideas even in lower divisions?

Arry is the most succesful english manager in the game and he has won fuck all.

In fairness, none of the good teams have ever wanted him as manager, so not easy to win anything when you're mainly managing mid-table teams.

He's done pretty well with mid-table teams. I think he'd be a perfect fit for England.

When you put it like that I can't argue

I love watching England be shit and fuck everything up. If for nothing more than pissing off the journo's.

But all in all, it's great. Germany 4-1 England was a great day.

Get Hodge Podge in.

"No he will not definitely be English," added Bernstein.
"Clearly there is a preference for an Englishman or a British person but in the end we want the best person. I am certainly not prepared to rule out anything but an Englishman or British person would have a good start."

I can see why an English person is preferred but why a British person? Other than language (and you'd assume anyone managing England would have to have a pretty decent grasp of that wherever they are from!) what is the difference if someone is from Wales or Scotland or if they are from another country?

The other British nations have their own FAs and own teams

Capello was right to walk. Whatever you think of Terry, he's not been found guilty of anything as yet and shouldn't have been stripped of the captaincy. The truth is, he should never have been given it back in the first place.
