Is Caciedo that much better than Rice?

That's going to be an interesting indirect competition to follow this season. Someone made this poll on Twitter and so far Rice is ahead, although not by a huge margin. IMO Caicedo's profile suits us better than Rice, who is also obviously an excellent player.

He had better stats then Rice last season and is 3 years younger. No doubt in my mind who is better.

We didn’t even get the chance to get this thread up to 100 pages first. Caicedo doesn’t deserve this!!!!

So the other PL club that the press were talking about coming in for Moises was Liverpool.
Spending £200m on 3 players is a big summer, and I can't say they haven't backed Klopp. FSG have finally come through.
I am not huge Moises fan, but he is class.
In Sunday we'll see Thiago play as the 6, there's no way Moises is ready to play regardless if eligible.

I'll be glad to be wrong if this works out. I wonder if behind the scenes Jurgen kicked up a fuss about FSG being penny pinching. I hope so.

It's possible he couldn't hold back anymore and given he was entering the last few years of his contract, wanted to be given the best chance possible to add more to the collection and FSG probably realised he was the best man to make that happen.

But going from a midfield of Fab Hendo and Milner to Caicedo MacA and Szobo is a dream, it's an untouchable midfield that is sorted for the next 5 years at least.

It ain't over the line yet, Chelsea won't want to go into Sundays game with this hanging over them, he wanted to go to Arsenal in Jan, and Chelsea a few weeks ago, London is less upheaval for him, so don't count your chickens yet.

TBH most fans have heard / seen a lot more of Rice which would naturally affect voting.

One last thing re Caicedo vs Rice. Caicedo had to play wing back against Utd at home last season to cover Rashford, and was probably man of the match. As a wing back. The lad is a fucking gem. Rice is like his uglier older sister.

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Brighton and Hove Albion to sign Moises Caicedo for a British record £110m ($140m).
Brighton held an auction with a midnight cut-off on Thursday, with Liverpool the highest bidders. Chelsea’s bid for the 21-year-old was up to £100m.
Personal terms are yet to be agreed between Caicedo and Liverpool, but are expected to be a formality, with a medical planned for Friday.

Chelsea had long been considered front-runners for Caicedo, but Liverpool remained in the discussions. This deal would break the club’s transfer record, which stands at £75m for Virgil van Dijk.

Liverpool are in need of a new defensive midfielder after Fabinho departed to Al Ittihad.
Chelsea have pursued Caicedo all summer after seeing Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all leave the club. They are also interested in Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, who is also on Liverpool’s radar, and Tyler Adams of Leeds United.
Brighton have already sold Caicedo’s midfield partner Alexis Mac Allister to Liverpool, who will be competing with them in the Europa League next season.
They begin their Premier League campaign at home to Luton Town on Saturday before Chelsea welcome Liverpool on Sunday.

It's exciting. Caicedo does have the potential to have a VVD like impact on our midfield and, injuries permitting, should secure us CL football next season as a bare minimum. He's an absolute monster.

We are at risk of a CB injury crisis derailing a season, and poor Phillips is likely going to retire with us, but today's a day to enjoy having a top, top player joining the club.

Whether this gets done or not there are so many posters that were on here slamming FSG day after day in thread after thread that now have egg dribbling down their chins, all over their shirts and pooling in their crotches!
Couldn't agree more Froggy, shame on all of them. Should never show their faces on any LFC boards again.

Haha and here was I thinking you'd have the good grace to own up and bow your head in supplication asking the club for forgiveness.
