really? i'm thinking any manager would be better than one who's such a lame duck that he'd be willing to have his transfer policy dictated to.

we've got a week and 2 months. i say 2 weeks to decide if you want to back him, then a month to work out his replacement, and then 4 weeks for the replacement to look at the squad and make a couple of signings. it's a tight schedule, but if they get cracking i'm sure they could pull it off. i'm not sure if i buy this idea that it'd take months on end for NESV to settle on a new manager - didn't it take them about 4-5 weeks from that famous email for them to decide to buy the whole club?!

like you said, they're serious people.
 
The fact that we're missing a CEO has to be considered. Would they go ahead and develop a strategy for the club before hiring one?
 
There's no question NESV could get all that done in that time if they want to. The real question IMO is whether they will - or should - want to. Appointing "the best of who happens to be currently available" led to Roy's appointment in the first place, so I agree with Bunny. It's precisely because NESV are indeed serious about this that they should (and will, I hope) mount a search for a new manager as thoroughly as possible. Ditto the new CEO. If Kenny's going to advise on player signings anyway, that's yet another reason to give him the caretaker manager's job in the meantime, and one of their own (maybe that guy who sent John Henry the fateful e-mail) can do the CEO job meanwhile.
