no joke, that actually made me feel fucking sick reading that.

I can't see why. That was one of Rafa's mistakes - he kept buying players and then deciding he didn't like them.

Roy needs to go, but we've lost against one (so called) shit side in the league, something Rafa was capable of every season too.

I couldn't give a shit about what's going on and what happens, the main thing is I want us to keep winning, I couldn't care less about how that reflects on the managerial situation and how much bearing it has on Roy's stay. Call me old fashioned like but all I give a shit about is that the first XI go out and win each week, if that starts happening the rest is just insignificant.

I could just be one of these posters who was hoping we'd get beat before the Blackpool game, because it would mean that Roy would go, well we got beat and it didn't happen. Well done.
Its not the loss to 'one shit side', sure Rafa was able to field a team that would do the same Fulham Pompey just to name 2, but Rafa's teams 99% of the time, looked like they was trying, created chances and was organized.

Roy teams looked lost, disjointed, shackled, and up until the week end, like they didn't care.

Did the players have a mini revolt and say 'Fuck his tactics, lets play like a Rafa side'?

I hope so, because if he's lost the team now, its days before he's lost the job
Well it was one defeat away from losing his job when he played Blackpool, and that worked out well didn't it?

True, but I took neil to mean he's appalled at the prospect of Roy being given that money to spend, and by the consequent implication that he'll be around for a while yet. If so, I'd have to agree with him.

I always gave my lad an empty box, and said it was an Action Man Deserter!

How much longer do the new owners need to sack this fucker? I'm loosing patience.

*Yes, I do realize they have only been here for a week.

Ex-Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini reveals Liverpool FC approach
by Richard Buxton. Published Tue 26 Oct 2010 11:56, Last updated: 2010-10-26

Manuel Pellegrini claims he has been approached by Liverpool and admits that he would welcome a chance to replace Roy Hodgson.

Hodgson is hoping that Sunday's win over Blackburn Rovers can act as a springboard for an resurgence, with his position at Anfield now under serious threat just three months into the job following the club's worst start to a domestic campaign since 1953.

Pellegrini is hopeful of returning to management by the end of the year after being dismissed by Real in May and would prefer a move to the Premier League, citing the Reds' Spanish contingent as a key motivation if he did succeed Hodgson.

He said: "Yes, Liverpool contacted me.

"It is a great club with many Spanish players who I already know, and it is my intention to work in the Premier League.

"I had lots of offers, some that I like. Ideally, I would like to find a club in December."

The question is when Pellegrini was contacted.

Whenever it was, Pellegrini should keep his mouth shut.

It was probably before Hodgson was assigned as anything else would be downright disrespectful really.

I'm sure it refers to our approach in the summer.

that's exactly what it refers to, I remember reading the piece in the summer.

winning run, AND stops saying fucking stupid things in the Media, like 'Silly supporters forums, and 'we should be mid table' and Everton was our best performance under me?

Nah Just FUCK OFF now you silly old twat (he's younger than me, but not mentaly)

I'm afraid that Henry decided that Roy stays until at least the end of the season if they plan on handing him a transfer kitty for January.

I read Roy's comments last night on the Everton game stats and cringed. OMG!

I'd still want him out because I don't think roy's long term plan would win us the league so there would be little point in persisting with him.

also if they give roy transfer money would that mean they want continue with roy into the new season?
it would be interesting to see if people's opinion (mine included) changes if roy goes on a winning run.
It won't.

Those posters who could see the logic in appointing someone seen as stable (like HOdgson) were thinking in light of the tremendous instability with the ownership issues, the crippling debt, and the loss of our top players, and our possible extinction as a great club.

No one saw Hodgson as a long term replacement for Rafa.

Especially since he's anything but stable.

Roy on transfers:

“I want to make sure the money, whatever amount I am given, is spent wisely. That’s so that at the start of the new season I have a new squad who I believe can give it a good go. We are trying to scout players of the highest level in the hope we can afford them.â€

Why? There's absolutely nothing in that statement that warrants the onset of nausea. Some people hate Roy, well, because.

a) because it mean mean roy was still here to spend the money in january and (speculating here, granted) it would mean more cloggers drafted in like poulsen and konchesky.

b) becuase it mean roy would be here at the start of the new season to 'give it a good go'.

both options make me feel ill.

I see you've conveniently ignored the signings of Meireles and Cole who are exactly the opposite of cloggers.
Look I'm not supporting him here but he had virtually nothing transfer fund wise (like his predecessor) so we don't know what he'd do with a decent amount of money.

you've got to admit, though, that even the smallest chance of us signing carlton cole is pretty chlling!

i think what neil's probably worried about more than anything is the idea of roy having £30m to spend when it looks impossible for him to be here long-term. it's pretty agonising to think that the sort of money we've waited 3 years for - although it's closer to 10 years since we've had it consistently - might be spent by our most mediocre, most short-term, manager for over 50 years.

We do know what he'd do with money:

Buy Kevin Davies and get relegated

The useless old cunt's already tried to buy Carlton Cole, and for every Meireles (his choice?) He's spunked 9m on Konchesky and Crapsen
