Burnley post match thread

Hyperbole.. and you accuse me at times of overreacting... A player like Mane was desperately needed, bringing much needed trickery and pace.. he was missed today.. We desperately needed new defenders too and a new keeper.. I don't see how he has actually bought wrong tbh..

Grujic looks quality too..

We just need a decent left back and a DM

Milner at left back, just ain't going to work..
Above all we need players who don't treat the ball like a spitting cobra. Burnley's first came from one of the almost uncountable stray passes that seem to afflict our players as soon as they are put under pressure.

And what is this-- 5 goals conceded from the last 5 shots on target?

Another thing I find bizarre is Klopp got rid of the soft bully-prone midfield players of the Rodgers era, typified by Allen and Lucas. Only to move Lallana back to Allen's position and Henderson to Lucas's – essentially recreating the soft middle, just with different players. What was the point?

Wijnadum isn't a CM and its horrible seeing him forced into that role. I'd prefer to see Grujic there.

Henderson was shite. No idea why Can didn't play but if he's good enough to sit on the bench then he's good enough to play 45 mins when it's clear we needed him.

In attack it was a reprise of last season. We simply failed to ever get beyond their defence and we lacked patience around their box. Resorting to countless wasteful and useless shots from distance.

What ever plan we had got fucked after 2 mins. Conceding so early after a personal mistake just isnt good enough.
Kick it the fuck out if you're under pressure.

Is it fuck hyperbole. If you asked people in May which 2 positions needed addressing, most would have said left back and the midfield anchor role. Way to miss the point, I never said none of the signings we made were any good, I said we ignored the two gaping holes. It was a shit result, quelle surprise that you're defending Klopp to the hilt though, shouldn't you be busy posting about Celtic again?

Clyne - very rare fuck up from him, so he gets a pass
Milner - Wasted at left back but it seems Klopp's refusing to buy one?
Henderson - he's bollocks
Wijnaldum - really, what's the plan for this lad? Play him there all season? He's not going to get 10 goals from there that's for sure
Lallana - the new sterling, gets in the box and passes weakly straight to the keeper at every available opportunity
Coutinho - Ahhhh, the coutinho of old that couldn't shoot for shit is back!
Firminho - As usual, blows hot and cold, today was another one of his colds
Sturridge - Looks nothing like the Sturridge that we had in Suarez's last season, I honestly think that player is gone now

We've let in 5 goals from 5 shots in 2 games. I'm not sure what you can say about that really. Massively unlucky and completely flukey from the opposition.

We look fantastic against teams that want to play, but against teams that are happy to defend and do us on the counter we look absolutely hopeless. I don't think Mane being out there today would have made a shit of difference.

Sorry, I don't buy that. If we had a good plan against Burnley it wouldn't depend on whether we concede or not. We had a plan against Arsenal and it showed despite us conceding first. Today for some reason players had no clue how to break down Burnley.

Mane would obviously have made a difference. We lacked his pace and directness.
Just shows we need more players like him in the squad. We got a bunch of other similar players.

Clyne now directly involved in three of the five goals we've conceded.

Our most reliable player last season.is having a poor start to this one.

I'm a massive fan of Henderson's, but he should never be playing that holding midfielder role, that position is for Can, and it's somewhat concerning we have no real cover for him.

Well, it certainly didnt work when they scored and put 9 men behind the ball. It then looked like many of our other similar performances were nothing works after that and everything is forced.
3-22 in attempts. Our finishing and decision making were certainly not good enough.

Klopp has got some serious thinking to do.

Ming has also conceded the last 5 attempts he has faced on goal. Not very good...

We also have Stewart, who was on the bench. And as always, there is Lucas... But for some reason Klopp decided to stick with Henderson at HM. I can maybe understand the thought – Hendo has good passing range, so if we're not going to buy someone like Paredes maybe it's possible to try Henderson there. Well, if this was an experiment (which started against Arsenal), then the result is negative. Henderson doesn't defend well enough and has no ability to control the tempo of the game because he doesn't trust his touch, so always tries to get rid of the ball right away. This leads to the whole back line being nervous playing the ball out of the back, which was our first problem today. I hope this was the last we see of this experiment.

The warning signs should have been there after Conceding 3 against a shite arsenal team.

For all the talk of signing the right players, it's case of same old same problems against teams who know they can out fight us

Actually we all said the keeper and the left back.

We had one, maybe two, threads that Allen could anchor and every other thread was about Lucas. You remember the Lucas threads right?

It was poor today by everyone. Players, managers, staff even the cleaning lady.
Mane will be back, Can is becoming fitter and we got a chance against Burton to right a few wrongs so we can take on Spurs.

5 goals conceded is a concern. The whole building a solide defensive unit is non excistent.

Yes we need a DM.. but really is it required for playing a Team like Burnley.. I would say no.. If Yes.. then we are in serious trouble..

Klopp set us up wrong.. He will learn from it.. We lacked pace and our finishing was awful..

Thats all their is to it...

Well, we're deffo gonna beat Spurs now. Just to confuse us fans even more about this team.

He won't learn from it, same shit we've been seeing since October when he took over and even before then.

This team is a complete shambles and we've spent 70m and not even improved from last season.

Being on this forum a after loss is just awful. If you cant see that the signings made will improve the team then good luck. With everything.

Utd - making signings that matter and winning.
Chelsea - likewise
City - likewise
even spurs.

Arsenal are just Arsenal but at least they're guarenteed top 4.

Liverpool - ???? same crap every year.
