British Manager for LFC

It's really hard for me to remain rational and level headed cos I'm just so fucking delighted that Rafas finally fucking off that I'm a bit excited by almost any name were linked with. I'd fucking umm and aaah about Lawrie Sanchez if he was rumoured.

For me it would be Moyes or Hodgson (not particularly keen on either for various reasons though).

Moyes has it in him to be a very good manager at a big club imo, and I guess Hodgson could to a decent job of steadying the ship for a couple of years.

MON is unbelievably overrated, he's got a net spend of £88 million over the last 4 years and what has he actually achieved at Villa?
The same as David O'Leary is the answer. But PR is everything.
I think even John Gregory's record at Villa is a match for MON's achievements.

Just read Hodgson's wikipedia entry. He's really had a weird, journeyman career, hasn't he? We'd all have laughed our heads off if he'd been suggested as Liverpool manager two or three years ago.

All except the Swedes, Swiss and Finns anyway.

If we're going after the likes of Hodgson, I say fuck it - let's just go out guns blazing and bring in Rijkard.

At least he'd have us playing 5 strikers and a no defenders.

We may be shit in defense, but by God we'd be exciting to watch.

Two Words.

Roy.

Evans.

At the risk of sounding like Rashid, I'd take a few seasons of playing nice football and finishing third or fourth right now.

Considering his past record and that this season, Pulis, Fat head, Mcleish and Bruce are all above his current team. Would it be fair to say that Hodgson is better in the cup competitions than what he is in the league?

Actually, I take that back.

I was talking rubbish. Sorry.

Uncle Roy had some of the best English talent at his finger tips and got us playing some absolutely lovely football. Ultimately though, his lack of defensive nous cost him his job.

It was never a dull moment with his teams - especially when the opposition got down near our corner flag.

In terms of the league, hasn't McCleish outperformed Hodgson?

I'm thinking he has.
Hasn't he spent shitloads more money as well?

Birmingham City Transfers:
Players In:

Christian Benitez (Santos Laguna - Birmingham City) Loan with option to buy for 5.6M
Scott Dann (Coventry City - Birmingham City) Undisclosed Fee
Joe Hart (Man City - Birmingham City) Season-Long Loan Deal
Giovanny Espinoza (Barcelona Sporting Club - Birmingham City) Undisclosed Fee
Roger Johnson (Cardiff City - Birmingham City) £5million
Barry Ferguson (Rangers - Birmingham City) £1million
Gregory Vignal (RC Lens - Birmingham City) Undisclosed Fee

So McCleish turned the Championship's runners up into a top 9 prem side with a spend of 6M.

I'd take Hodgy out of the names mentioned, but how do you think that would sit with our bigger stars? Would Masher sign a new contact? Would Nando get pissed off? Stevie?

I realise that no player is bigger than the club, but some could well be offski very quickly.

Be careful what you wish for. Rafa may or may not be gone, I have no idea, but I very much doubt that Torres will stay unless we show more ambition than Uncle Woy II, the sequel .

Would we be "showing more ambition" by hanging onto a man who is probably doing the worst job in the Premiership this season ?

If Torres wants to fuck off after one bad season then he's welcome to go.
It isn't just about him though is it? He has agents and advisers all of whom will be trying to get a slice of his next contract. It is world cup year, and here in Spain Football is a god like creation, with Nando near the top of the pile.

I'm sure he has some loyalty to Liverpool and if Rafa stays or another top European manager is instated I could see him staying. But I fear the worst if we appoint Hodgson, Gollum, Mcleish etc. His advisers would have a field day.

The trouble is his advisers will not have his nor Liverpools interests at heart.

He's a grown man mate and can make his own decisions. Ultimately he'll make the final decision.

id be happy for carragher to take over

IF we had to go British, I would take King Kenny back.

Yeh, he's been out of the game for yonks, but that romanticism behind it turns me on.

Not as a permanent appointment, but I'd be happy to see him minding the shop while we make damn sure we get the right man, including waiting for him to become available if that's what it takes.
I think we should go after Alonso. The position of manager would tempt him back. No doubt.
it's too late now they can't afford his transfer fee

That's probably the right answer if we want to be rational about things.

That really is a non starter Ro-Land. Almost as mad as installing Carra. I mean Kenny has a reputation to protect which is unlikely to remain in tact as he's been out of the game for over a decade.

Carra has passion for the club in spades, but manager? Fuck off!

Fair enough.

I still don't want him though. He's a ginge.

Four points behind with a game in hand.
Hodgson has hardly been shit on by Mcleish Doc.
