British Manager for LFC

Hodgeson would be a good choice if we can't get Mourinho. He's done extremely well at Fulham.

MON is the obvious choice.

Hodgy.

O'leary.

Bruce.

Redknapp.

Mcleish.

Moyes.

Mcclaren.
I would rather gouge my eyes out and drain the sores with Tobasco than have any of them as our manager.

I would like you to do that.

He's not bad for an old feller. But he's *really* old.
He's 63. Perfect for a final tilt at the big time and he can retire a few years into his reign having seen us through a difficult time. He'll be delighted to step up and work with what he's given I'd think, whereas some of the names we'd like mightn't be so willing.

Of course, if we get serious money behind us the new owners might prefer a bigger name right away.

It's a dark, dark day if we're seriously considering Hodgson.

Haven't felt this depressed about a manager since the rumours that Souness was taking over.

And who mentioned Jol ?
One of the articles posted this morning.

If we're going after the likes of Hodgson, I say fuck it - let's just go out guns blazing and bring in Rijkard.

At least he'd have us playing 5 strikers and a no defenders.

We may be shit in defense, but by God we'd be exciting to watch.

My only concern with Hodgeson is Fulhams away form. It's terrible, and would rule us out of the league by october.

If it's down to Fulham being shite, then fine. But it's a worry.

Funny that this thread would start this very day. The very same day that I'm awoken by a text telling me Hodgeson IS our next manager.
I laughed it off, but then Roys on 909 and he says 'i'd like to remain at this level for years to come' to which he was asked 'don't you look at ferguson and redknapp and think to yourself I'd like that money and to be at a bigger club' and Roy says ' I mean top players at the top level not nescessarily where I am' so there you go. Roys the man

In terms of the league, hasn't McCleish outperformed Hodgson?

I'm thinking he has.

Felix Magath is my top choice.

Me too.

Who is he?

"Managing reputation

As a manager, Magath quickly gained respect and became notorious for his hard, grinding training methods, laying heavy emphasis on discipline, fitness and conditioning. Players gave him nicknames like “Saddam†(Saddam Hussein) or “Quälixâ€, a mash of his first name Felix and the German verb “quälen†(to torture).[7] After establishing himself as one of the most successful managers in recent Bundesliga history, this became somewhat of a cult."

He's even more defensive minded than Rafa though, he'd get murdered on here.

Has he? Not so much, and he *was* coming up from the Championship remember.

He had money to spend in Jan after Brum had been sold, but wouldn't pay the inflated prices.
I don't know how much Mcleish has spent but the radio this morning had Hodgson spending 16m total in 3 seasons. When he took over they were rock solid favourites for relegation with a rubbish team and in three years they're in a European final and safe by Christmas each year. Schwarzer, Hangaaland, Dempsey, Zamora, Duff, Gera all brought in, and all very good players. He's worked a small miracle AND he plays attractive passing football WITH WIDEMEN. I like him, he's a gentleman and a scholar of the game and I'd be happier with him than many of the other Brits.

He offered £9m for Ryan Babel. The man is clearly fucking off his head.

I'd be happy to give the Hodg a go if we can't land Jose. He's seen it all and has Fulham playing great football and doing well in a European competition despite coming up against stronger opposition, a bit like any manager taking over Liverpool will need to do.

It'll be interesting to see how Rafa reacts at the end of today's match, if he intends to leave he'll surely show his hand in some way in his interaction with the crowd.

Yeah.

I'm well aware that this is a fickle, short-termist, seems-like-a-nice-guy, just-got-to-the-UEFA-Cup-Final kind of reaction, but I'd be pretty happy if Woy were appointed now. We'd be every neutral's favourite team as well.

I wouldn't expect too much. It's Rafa. He'll look at his watch, applaud the stands, and go.

or his plan was to give liverpool 9m and rid liverpool of babel so when he joined he wouldn't have to.

I know he's a cold hearted mofo but he would show some emotion if it was his last time standing in Anfield as Liverpool manager.

Didn't he turn on the waterworks when he was leaving Valencia?
