That does not mean however that Klopp didn't rotate for Brighton, which he clearly did. How difficult is it for you to acknowledge that, whether you agree with it or not.

Hang on, surely nobody is saying that Klopp didn't rotate and rest players? He played three teenagers and two strikers who have played about 90 minutes all season and rested his best defender and first-choice keeper.

The obvious prioritisation of the league (regardless of who we're playing next) over the cup isn't up for argument.

I don't see the problem. We've played a lot of games recently and players needed a rest. We don't have the squad to be putting a full strength team for the FA cup, champions league and still hope to win the league. We had to prioritize and out of the three the FA cup is the least important in terms of prestige and money. All i care about is the league. If resting players against wolves gives us the best chance of beating Brighton this weekend then i'm all for it. Doesn't mean we will win, but i can guarantee you that we'll have a better chance than if we played a full strength team for 90 mins against wolves.

Spurs and Arsenal away, what?

You said: "

"

That is based on us loosing against Wolves in an FA Cup game that we didn't prioitize, and then loosing points in a League game. You probably don't mean to indicate that we are guaranteed to win the remaining away games, but for some reason we would look really fucking stupid if we dropped Points in a tricky awaygame.

My reasoning is that if we drop Points we will still be top of the League, and that is not a really fucking stupid position to be in. But if we had lost the two games (Spurs and Arsenal is 4 Points) we would not have been top of the League before the Brighton game. You Logics is that if we had beaten Wolves and lost points against Brighton we would not look really fucking stupid if we had 4 points less before the game. I prefer the 4 Points gap in Our favour and a loss to Wolves (if I could choose) and you obvious the oposite.

Someone make it stop

This thread gave me a headache

Looking forward to a serious performance to put that man city shite to bed

Not really, VVD would have started if he wasnt ill. Klopp also would have started Lallana and Henderson if not for minor knocks and illness.

Yeah, he was all for giving this competition his very best shot, it's just circumstance, bad luck and injury that led to the youngest ever Liverpool player to feature in the FA cup, our second-choice goalkeeper, our second-choice RB, two teenagers starting their first ever games, a midfielder at CB, and a strike duo who have started three games all season, making a total of 9 changes to the team that played City.

Heavy rotation was expected, widely predicted and happened.

Bringing on Firmino and Salah for 20 mins isn't inconsistent with wanting to keep them fresh for the next game.
Yeh, stopping completely often isnt as effective as just doing a lighter workout in terms of being fresh, the formers only more effective if they were completely exhausted physically or mentally, which clearly they aren't.

I've never been in the 'Klopp needs to win something' camp. That's far too simplistic (at least at the beginning of the season it was). Who are the favourites for the PL ? The CL ? The FAC ? The LC ? It wasn't us. Who has spent the most money in the PL ? In Europe ? Again not us. And considering the state of the squad when he arrived we've seen a great turnover and improvement. We seem to be set to challenge for the next few seasons at least. So if you are not favourites, not even in the top 4 as far as the CL is concerned, why MUST he win something ? That's something rival fans and pundits say, I don't believe it's something FSG will demand even though we now can compete at that level.

I dont agree with this part. Who gives a fuck what pundits and others say?

We MUST win something for the supporters. As someone who has been lucky enough to have a season ticket for 25 years, the best days out I've had in my life have been watching Liverpool win trophies. Istanbul 05, Cardiff in 06 winning the FA Cup, Cardiff in 03 for the League Cup, Alaves in Dortmund, the 01 Cup final against Arsenal. Ive been present at all of these moments and more. Its the fucking best feeling ever. That's why winning Trophies are so important. Its been that fucking long since we won one, Ive forgotten what it feels like.

I agree we need to prioritise the league, but just dont forget how good ANY sort of cup final win is for the fans. Thats why its a MUST to try and win something.

The league cup against fucking Cardiff is my experience

Piedro gets it.

Back to reality...who's going to start alongside Vvd this weekend?

Lovren if he's fit. Fabinho if he's not.

Assuming Matip and Gomez are still out, I don't know as I don't follow injured players or care about knowing when they're due to be fit.

That was boss, we were fucking monged all weekend.

And Erm, hang the fuck on. I took you and your mates to Cardiff in 03 remember.

Boss day that. £10 on Gerrard first goal 16/1 as well. Shame that fucking prick Ryan Giggs missed that 1 on 1 in the last minute. I'd had a fiver (I think, could have been a tenner) on Gerrard first goal and 2-1 Liverpool at 200/1. Hairy Welsh prick cost me a good wedge that day. I must have been the only Liverpool fan wanting him to score when he went through on goal.

Rotation was expected and several changes. But I doubt he would have started Jones and Camacho if Henderson and Lallana were fit.

I remembered that one, but that was pre big ears, so discounted it

I'm okay with handicapping our chance of winning the league so Piedro can have a piss up in London for an FA Cup final .....

Cup Finals are the best (only know this as I've never been in a position when we can actually win the league on the final day of a season. 2014 didnt count as there was no way City were going to lose at home on the last day).

Are you coming over if we've got a sniff this year? More than welcome to crash in ours.

Crash in what Piedro?
How come you don't invite me you cunt?

We are trying to win something .. the big dog ! How will the fans feel about that ? How will they feel if we fuck it up by injuring players in games that meaning nothing in comparison but which may greatly influence our chances in the one that really matters.

It's that have your cake and eat it question again. We may end up with nothing but it won't be for a lack of trying or planning.

You know what gets me in this whole debate ? The hypocrisy (I'm not pointing fingers at you Pete). There's previously been a debate on here (last season) on what matters more, the PL or the CL, and those now crying about fielding a weakened team in the FAC are the ones that were adamant the PL was the ONLY one that matters after 30 years. Hypocrites.

I know what you mean and agree to an extent... the problem I've got is Wembley. I fucking hate the place. Euro finals and Cardiff and old Wembley were boss. This new one just stinks of shit. I wouldn't go there again.

It's different in hypothetical situations where "you win the fa cup or the league"

In reality watching an abject display like last night gives confidence to our rivals and makes teams who would have been quaking, now think there's something to be taken from us

I think "debate" is a bit strong. You said one thing, everyone else told you to shut the fuck up.
