He got us Ray Kennedy too. Converted him into a rolls Royce of a midfielder. Very underrated as well.
I'm guessing that's cos she was in the same year as you?Interesting fact.
I went to school with his grand-daughter and never once tried to crack onto her.
Those 3 European Cups - as many as the Mancs have managed in their whole history - were won in 9 years, during which we won the league 7 times and came second the other two seasons. I've often had arguments with Mancs about who really was the greatest manager of all, and they almost all go the same way - I hit 'em with these stats, they go quiet for 10 seconds or so, then they come back with "Yeah, but Fergie's still the greatest" and find something else to talk about. 😎

Yes, and it really shows how insular the southern commentators, hacks and pundits are that quite often, when discussing great British managers, they don't even mention Paisley. He genuinely isn't someone who comes freely to mind. Which is astonishing.
That's all about repressing memories. If you don't talk about it, it didn't really happen.
Karen Gill? I know why!Interesting fact.

Shanks signed Kennedy. It was Paisley who looked at him for a season and decided he'd be better in midfield.
I don't blame Ferguson for Paisley not being granted a Knighthood...and he was a truly outstanding manager.Y'know, it's possible to talk about Paisley and laud his achievements without having to denigrate Ferguson or tenuously hold him responsible for having a Knighthood and Paisley not having one you know.
This comes up every time, and makes us look petty. They were both outstanding managers, can't we just leave it at that and recognise it?
Ask the average punter who were the most successful British managers and I doubt more than 20% will even know who Paisley was. That's what pisses fans off. If both him and Ginsoak were commonly discussed in this context I'm sure the moans about the latter would subside quite a bit.
Fair point.
But who's fault is that?
