'An entertaining nil nil with lots of good passing'

Says Roy.

Did he really? Fuck me.

It's not a bad comment, but one you'd expect from a commentator, not the manager

Oh and I have to say Glen Johnson is turning into a 18m dud.

It was just about "A-ok" that he was shit at defending when he was actually offering us something going forward. Nowadays, we are not even seeing that. He's just plain horrible both ways.
He was bad today but he's put in some good performances of late. Today certainly wasn't a trend for him.
He plays as if he is half asleep most of the time. It's not as if he has that "composure" about him as well. He is routinely caught sleeping and is then hurried into a mistake. He clearly needs to work on his concentration.

Well, not OUR manager anyway.

It was ever so obvious that we'd look a better team with a more dynamic player alongside Poulsen who certainly looked mostly poor today - perhaps apart from the last ten.

It's still a new league and new team for him
I had a feeling you start this shit KHL.
You are aware that Lucas was fuckng MILES better then Pouslon today and based on everthing we have seen so far it is Poulson that should be fucked off out of the side. He is fucking shit and your defence of him should stop today.

Wow. What an idiotic post.

I'm a Liverpool fan first and foremost and I'm not going to write off a player completely after his only SECOND game in the EPL - rated by most as the most difficult league for new players to embed in.

Anyone with half a brain wouldn't do that despite how poor he was. And you 'knew it would come' you say? Of course you did as it was obvious he played better when we changed our style of play.

Calm yourself down Stu.

Oh and Lucas wasn't MILES better than anyone. Obviously.

Roy is proving to be as stubborn as Rafa. There is no excuse for playing both Lucas and Poulsen.

Woeful and uninspiring to say the least. I hope Roy wakes the fuck up or else we are destined for mid table mediocrity.

:'(

Today like so many other days in the past 18 months Liverpool played for a draw against a midtable side.

I hate Hodgson almost as much as i hate Benitez already. It took me a good 3 years to hate Benitez as much as i hate Droopy already.
Still its only United next week. (aka 5 games 4 points)

That was painful viewing today.

Apart from Lucas in midfield (i guess the new lad isn't match fit yet) i didn't have any issues with the side Roy picked. For his/ours sake i hope that some of our better players start to produce the goods bloody soon.

Good to see Pepe back to usual high standards.

We already have five points so maybe 5 points 5 games you might say.
Cool. We should stay up with 38pts. Its also sad to think that (given we WILL lose to United) that with 1/7th of the season gone we will have a negative goal difference. Liverpool Football club ftmfl.

I wonder if there are any classic 'I'm dead chuffed with Hodge and how this summer has gone, and really optimistic about this season' threads we can dig up?

Arsenal (H), Citeh (A), WBA (H), Birmingham (A), United (A).

Cole out for 3 games, Miereles not fit to start, Torres unfit, Masherano gone, Agger forced to play LB, new boys still slotting in.

Who really expected much more from out first 5 games ? If we avoid defeat at OT then it's a relatively decent start considering all of our travails and the schedule and 4 of maybe our toughest 10 or 12 EPL matches already out of the way, with only Citeh really blotting our copy book.

When we can eventually put out our strongest side it looks very decent and with the way results have gone for everyone else except Chelsea we are in no way too far off the pace for a CL slot.

75 mins of poor football, characterised by a lack of tempo, aimless use of the ball, next to no width and no service to an isolated Torres. What a waste of a phenomenal player if the manager has no obvious plan to exploit him.

Thought we looked a completely different team when Raul replaced Lucas. Hopefully that'll be a permanent situation and he looked classy even in such a short period of time.

Thank fuck for Reina eh? He alone EARNT us a point and

We now have Joe Cole back and Meireles has already shown signs that he will be a cracking player.

Add those 2 and take out Lucas and Maxi and we're a different proposition.

Its essential we get someone closer to Torres. You can see he's getting fucked off up front on his own with no support

What position do you think we'd be in if Rafa was still here?

it's not a side step because it was nonsence question how can anyone know what our position would be if rafa was incharge of the four games we played .we could have lost all four or won them all .
It's not nonsense at all. It's querying whether we may actually be better off (however incrementally) with Roy over Rafa. That is at least something.

'And replaced with a worse manager who has never won anything, and is a safe, avuncular, media-friendly yes man who is fully aware that he would never have got the Liverpool job in normal circumstances'

Roy is definately lucky no one else seemed to want the job given the uncertainty of the ownership and funds available for squad improvement.Anyhow since he is our fate he needs the backing of the fans until we are able to replace him with a manager who is capable to take us forward.

Kenny wanted it, albeit on a caretaker basis, and should have got it. Roy was not the best candidate.

That said, we do have to stand by him until new owners come in. IMO we were always likely to get a new manager at that point anyway, barring a far better showing under Roy in the league than anyone expected.
