They may not be too much between the players in terms of raw ability. They were clearly very similar players in terms of metrics for them to both 'be on the list'. People will point to Jota already having Prem experience but the bigger difference is that we are the best team in world football at matching a players metrics to a set system, which provides them a platform to really kick on. Diaz, Jota, Salah have all looked class from day one. Even Mane if you to back further - although he was more responsible for implementing and delivering the system than anyone else.
Chelsea just went on a splurge and had no clue how to integrate Havertz, Lukakau and Werner into one team. Yes they won the CL under Tuchel but there's still issues in regards to their long term planning and best team. A raw talented squad will only get you so far against Liverpool and City, who are just ridiculously finely tuned and well coached.
