Could be a Heskey, could be a Lukaku.

His stock is at its lowest now, so would be worth a punt at the right price as technically he is a sound player.

This is one of those time when I wish the information about injuries in the Premier League was better, everything is told in its vaguest terms.
I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if the reason he wasn't impressive this year is because of an ongoing hip injury.

He seemed to score against all quality of opposition last year.

🙄 Is it your time of the month @Hansern? Plug it up lad and stop being so bloody miserable. You were the same in the Stoke thread the other day I recall.

Haha, it was said in jest mate 🙂
The stuff in the match thread is my version of Gene Hughes its got a draw written all over it posts.
It seems to be working albeit not a fun read!

Ah reverse psychology with an anti jinx spin. I like it. My bad. *knucks* 🙂

Haven't watch Aston Villa this season but seeing that they average the lowest possession in the league, surely one of the reason for Benteke's lack of goals would be the lack of service/team's style of play?

He scored a pretty decent diving bullet header last night. I still like him, I think he could be a much better player, playing every week in a better team. He looked clinical last season, and that doesn't just go away. If he was playing in a good side, creating a boatload of chances, then that's different. But he's feeding off scraps there, and he's been out injured.
Villa didn't look that bad in the 2nd half last night, and they've got vlaar back now, so he might start banging them in again.

He's a great player, we've just got to make sure that Villa can't get the ball to him, our midfield will be key to this.

On a sidenote:

Christian Benteke made his 50th Premier League appearance in the game (against Arsenal) and scored his 24th Premier League goal, his seventh header and his first in 12 games.

[article=http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25723403]Benteke had scored only six Premier League goals at this stage of last season.

He then went on a run of 13 goals in the last 15 games to end the season with 28 goals in all competitions.[/article]
