There's no chance that we'll sell. Rodgers obviously thinks Agger is an important part of his team. So it's a no go. But if they offer us around £30 million, it'll be difficult to turn down.

Barca tried to unsettle Agger before, but thankfully Agger doesn't give a damn about them.
 
Thiago Silva first choice.
David Luiz second choice.
Daniel Agger third choice?

Perhaps they should've just gone for Marquinhos.

Be funny if the only reason we're signing Papawhatever is because we're selling Agger for more money.
 
Skrtel has to be the first one out the door.
Actually Coates before that.
He was first choice last season. It'll be crazy to lose both our centre backs in one summer. Fuck that.

Even if his value halves next summer, I'd still rather keep him.
We have very little quality at the back right now, so for me it'll be detrimental to simply bring in a cheaper younger player. And if Papa really is joining, I'd rather lose Skrtel.

Don't be silly, Agger has obviously been their first choice for about 10 summers.
 
He's a player I wouldn't sell at any price right now. He's matured into an excellent defender, well suited to Rodgers' system and with first class attitude on and off the pitch. Like someone said recently, he really seems to "get" the club.

He also seems to have finally found some consistent fitness and the club deserves to reap the benefits of that in arguably the peak of his career.

As much as I like Skrtel too, he's clearly 3rd choice and would have to be the prime candidate to leave this summer.

Agger? No way.
 
We'd be stupid to sell him now, but every tentative link with Barca get's posted on here for obvious reasons, so I'll take it with a pinch of salt as always.
 
He'd be perfect for them. At 18 -20million, if we could identify a top replacement, I'd sell and keep Skrtel who was badly treated last season IMHO. Controversial?
 
Not really controversial no, but personally I wouldn't sell either, they could both boss it together again if given the chance. Skrtel was made a scapegoat of last year, the defense as a unit and individually had a shocking first 5-6 months, I guess he paid the price for being the one that was more similar in style to Carragher.

It's front page stuff in the biggest Spanish sports papers, once again, that one of our key players are "close" to joining Barca. I can't see how you can call that tentative - or at least any more so than any other not confirmed story out there?

Of course it is, like the other 10 threads you've started about Mancini/Barca/PSG/Vilanova, it doesn't take much for you to start a thread in a roundabout way to tell us how great one of your compatriots is, it's endearing Kris but it's subjective, no one else bothers picking up on these stories.

The way you pick up on these City/Barca/PSG articles and start a new thread EVERY time, I'd swear you want it to happen just to champion him further.

If you think I want him sold you really haven't listened to one thing I've said on here over the past 8 years. Well done.

Barca have been linked intensely with Agger for the better part of two years now and with their new manager coming in it seems the link has gained even more pace. This is not a CaughtOffside story or someone on Twitter having a laugh but papers in Barca's homeland claiming that he's topping the new managers wishlist.

You can scoff at it as much you like but I'd be extremely disappointed to see him leave at this stage.

Btw, I don't need him to be sold to know I've been right all along in championing Agger as a great defender, because he is, so that's just speculative rubbish thinking mate that I must admit seems a bit desperate really.
 
Desperate? Haha...Kris, have a look at the last 10 threads you've started, about 5 or 6 are about Agger being linked with someone, "should we buy Bentner" and one or two about Eriksen, tell me there's not a pattern there. You're last little shitty comment just pretty much summed up the agenda.

And for the record, I know he's a good player (I think "great defender" is stretching it, but then I'm not Danish).

Khl, I always stick up for you but I agree with Mark, it does seem like you relish these links to champion Agger. However, Oncy and Mark should ease off because Agger linked to Barca again on the back of a main Spanish paper IS a talking point. Unfortunately, your are the Dane who cried Agger.

I don't care who we lose at the back. They're all major contributors in the most expensively assembled midtable side ever.

I'd throw in Johnson as well for 18m.
