I wanNaby (Under the sea in an Octopus's Garden in the Shade) - Deal Confirmed

Really strange timing on the deal, hopefully this is basically concrete proof that Coutinho is staying the season to be replaced by Keita next.

I thought about us doing this, especially if Phil leaves next summer. But what happens if Keita breaks his legs? Seems an incredible risk for 50m.

There was chat that he was in the uk earlier , assumed it was bollocks..

No way does this club snaffle keita and Lemar in the same day , even if one is buy now play later jobby

Still less bizarre than Mbappe "loan" to PSG.
Thats not bizarre, it's obvious why they're doing that. I guess we are doing this to fend off other suitors next season, but it seems strange to pay over the top of the release clause to not get him any earlier.

I assume this means that the reports about Can agreeing to join Juve next season are true

I wonder how much over the top we're paying. In theory that makes sure we avoid competition for him next season.

Nah not really.

All it takes is the agent showing Barca have agreed personal terms for next summer or some bs and bingo , the club stump up £60m today to guarantee him next summer

What's the point in a medical today? He could be dead in 12 months. Not that I'm wishing death on him.

Yeh, it the clause was 40 and we're paying 50 thats cool, but if we're paying the 60+ we were rumoured to be bidding for him before i'd be a bit annoyed. Twitter seems to think it's 50, which is superb to be honest.

BREAKING NEWS: Naby Keita is undergoing a medical today as #LFC secure his signing for next summer. Paid his £48m release clause + a premium to get it done
Keita joins LFC on 1st of July 2018. Well done...
