Unless you are Barcelona in which case it's the shittiest day ever for signing players. Come on, 10 more pages, one last push men !!

One more page and we can rehash old puns. Its hard to Keita to the same crowd again and again
Are you sure it will be o Keita resume punning? Last month I thought his name rhymed with 'Peter' then I thought it rhymed with 'Fighter' now it seems to rhyme with 'Later'. I tend to see names written down long before I hear them pronounced and when I guess the pronunciation wrong my excellent punnage falls on deaf ears.

Klopp's ex-DoF at Mainz, who's now at Schalke
[article]RasenBallsport Leipzig midfielder and Liverpool transfer target Naby Keita plays for two men, according to Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel after his side's opening Bundesliga victory.

Schalke's win was particularly well deserved as they were playing against "12 men" according to Heidel, who marvelled at the Guinea international's ability to evade the home side's attentions.

"Everyone has seen that RB are a top team, especially since they played with 12 today," Heidel told journalists, as reported by Spox. "Naby Keita plays for two!

"The kid is unbelievable," he added. "I've rarely seen anything like it.

"Even when three [Schalke players] were on him, he somehow managed to keep hold of the ball."

Schalke may have emerged victorious following goals from Algeria's Nabil Bentaleb and Yevhen Konoplyanka to hand RB Leipzig an early setback, but Keita's quality shone through during a dominant midfield display, helping the visitors to a whopping 64.5 percent of the possession.

He took 95 touches - only teammate Dayo Upamecano took more - and contributed a game-high three key passes.

Keita was also the game's joint most effective tackler - winning six tackles - and made two interceptions and tested Ralf Fahrmann with a shot on target.

After playing an influential role last season as Leipzig secured unexpected Champions League qualification, he's been linked with a move to Liverpool throughout the summer.

As things stand, however, he remains a Leipzig player after the club rejected a reported €83 million approach from the Reds earlier this window.[/article]

Hannover were interested in taking both Kent and Woodburn on loan.

It's probably a good move for him as he'll certainly get more game time there. But we should be thinking about of the FA Cup and League Cup squads as well.

Hopefully we have Draxler lined up.

So now Barca are trying to achieve in approximately 1 week the player we have been trying to sign the whole summer window. Get rekt.

They could get keita though. Much bigger draw than Liverpool

Without doubt, but the issue was never the player wanting to leave, it was the board not wanting to sell, I can't see Barca offering them £55 million over 10 years changing that stance.

You're underestimating the power of a Mars bar...[emoji6] [emoji23]

They're going to get the square root of Jack shit. We've been negotiating with Leipzig and putting in offers which are in excess of his worth. Barca will go in there offering 50 euros per annum over 300 years and extras if Naby and his village win the Ballon D'or.

I thought our transfer committee were shite, Barcas have topped ours.

Think you'd all be surprised. Keita never pushed for a move. Still trained, never said anything. Barca come sniffing I think he might be a bit more eager, and I think leipzig wouldn't mind getting a seat with the big boys and getting barca onside. Good for loans etc

Until the Coutinho fiasco I might well have agreed. Having seen the way they've conducted themselves over that, though (as much their minging offer as the rest of their behaviour), I'm no longer quite so sure clubs - or possibly even players - will be in quite such a hurry to rush into their embrace.

Even if we signed Keita, you can pretty much guarantee he will want to go to play for Barcelona/Madrid at some point. He's said as much, hasn't he?

I think if Barca were in for him now, he'd probably stop training and kick up a major fuss.

Didnt he inform Leipzig that he wanted to leave? Twice?

Do you have a link for that? The only statement from him that I've seen quoted was one to the effect that, if Jürgen Klopp wants you, it's hard to say no.

He mixed him up with Seri who said his dream is to play for Barcelona one day

"I love the city of Leipzig, and I will never forget this city," said Keita. "I think that in a couple of years or threee, I will have the level to play for one of the biggest clubs. That includes Barcelona, but also Real Madrid and Manchester City too."
