I know it's 6 days away but I get the feeling this game (& City) could be very important in determining how we finish this season.

If we somehow pull 4-6 points, it will push the team forward and give us a very good chance to push for 5-6, maybe even 4th if we get bloody lucky and everything falls into play.

When is Enrique back?

I'd play the same team that smashed Norwich - there's no need to change a winning formula.

I'd very disappointed if Rodgers drops Henderson for Allen.

Enrique is 'allegedly' back the middle of Feb.
On a side note, my mate, an arse fan asked me if I wanted to go to the game with him as we were just going to watch it in the boozer, he said the tickets were 126quid each or 76quid!!! Asfuckingif.

If anyone thinks we have a chance of making 4th then you are fekin deluded imbeciles.

If anyone thinks we'll ever see a black president in the US, we're deluded imbeclies ... Oh wait! MIRACLES CAN HAPPEN RW. BELIEVE (until we're mathemticaly eliminated in 7 games).

He's not black. He's mixed race. And it's the white half that made it in to the white house.

We *can* win if we set up to get at them. Don't play Borini, get Gerrard and Lucas running around everywhere and hope Andre Santos plays.

We have to be ready for this game and get the balance right. Arsenal can easily roll over us, but if we set it up correctly we have every chance.

The last 3-4 seasons have showed us that we really should take one game at the time and take it from there.

Defeats against Arse and City and BR will have is first official crisis. That will be our season over.

The tin-pot Europa league doesn't count.

Why doesnt it count? So if we get to the final you wont bother watching it then? Or celebrate if we win it?
Fucking laughable.

Because it's a shit cup or have you been living in a cave for the last decade when every cunt on the planet has been trying to give it the kiss of life by changing the fekin thing every other year!

And yes Mr 'super bestest supporter' I will be watching the final and every cunting game before it where we are involved. None of that detracts from it being a shit cup.

We're in a period where trophies are few and far between. I dont thinkwe can afford to have that attitude.
You said you'll watch all the games, fair enough. But wont celebrate if we win it though, because its so shit?

Of course I'll celebrate if we win and of course I want us to do well in it. But all of that doesn't detract from the fact it is a shit cup.But that's where we are as a club. No league challenge, not in the CL, off the pace for 4th.

I think you're confusing my description of it as a' shit cup' and whether we should try and win it or not and whether I would be happy if we won it.

I must be!
When you said our season would be over if we lose against Arse and City because the EL doesnt count I thought it would be worth making my point.

Back on topic, I think two draws would be good but wouldnt be surprised if we got at least one win out of the two.

2 Finals and winning one of them didn't save Kenny. Whether we like it or not it's the PL and CL are measurements of success. FA Cup, the Asda cup, all very nice but unless we have made progress towards challenging for the PL and CL qualification the other stuff is just padding.

The current Arse team are probably the poorest in a long-time. However what they do have, like all AW's teams is the ability to play in between the back 4 and midfield. With Walcott, Podolski and Carzola I think we will be up against it. Partly because they are good players but mostly because we can't defend for shit. I hope Lucas plays although he's way short of being any where near his best - which is to be expected.

If, and it's a big if, if we take 4 points then we have s decent chance, especially with Chelsea, Everton and Spurs at home.

However I think we'll get bummed in both games.

Kenny was fired for a myriad of reasons (I think) ... They obviously felt pressurized into hiring him, and the gaffes the club made after such a successful formula was developed in the 2nd half run was the reason Kenny was let go. Poor signing, a lack of direction (whether right or wrong) etc ... Rodgers seems to have x (3?) years to work with to take us on an upward curve (dunno how upward obviously). They are trying to do with thim what they did with the Red Sox which is build it intelligently with smart pick ups etc ... I hope they're as successful, and when they reach the peak, they don't make the same mistakes they made with the Bo Sox.

A proper back four should hopefully see us return to the levels of defending we have seen over the last 2 months. There is no reason why we can't beat them if we are tight, we have enough quality to create them a whole world of trouble.
