The attacking midfielder from Gala who can also play on the left has today revealed that Liverpool are one of his favourite destinations in Europe.

He had a storming European Championship and is hailed as the biggest rising star in Turkey these days. Anyways here's a snippet from FIFA.com:

Mr Turan, are you Turkish football's latest superstar?
Arda Turan: I'm not a star, just a good footballer and, most importantly, I'm a team player. I always give 100 per cent and I'm constantly trying to improve my game.

Do you want to stay in Turkey or would you like to play abroad one day?
I'm definitely planning on playing in one of Europe's top leagues at some point. It would be a great chance for me to represent my country and further my career.

Are there any teams in particular who you would like to play for?
Liverpool or Juventus would be great.

Anyone seen him play on a regular basis besides during the EC last Summer?

The Gala president has put a 12 mill £ price on Turan.

That rules us out.
[/quote]

we couldnt afford him if he was on a free ffs.....

shame cos he is a good player and young too for 12M.

unless of course we offer babel + Voronin + Dossenna + bit of cash and some sort of arrangement on wages in exchange..... all them plus 15M say.

Hope we sign him. I can´t believe the left side is still a problem!

Its a joke isn't it. Id sell all of our left sided players and start again. Bye Babel, Dossena, Insua, Aurelio and Riera.

Liverpool FC set to swoop for Arda Turan as Ryan Babel eyes Anfield exit

Liverpool are reportedly set to offer out-of-favour Ryan Babel to Galatasaray as part-exchange for their highly-rated winger Arda Turan.

According to sources in Turkey the Cimbom captain, 22, could be heading to Anfield to replace the much-maligned Dutch winger, who revealed to supporters that he had been dropped from the squad that travels to face Stoke City tomorrow lunchtime.

The one-time Ajax prodigy vented to Reds fans via social networking site Twitter, the second time he has broken ranks in the space of a week. Last Sunday he called on the club's owners, George Gillett and Tom Hicks, to provide funds for Rafael Benitez in the transfer market.

However Babel's latest rant claims that the Spaniard gave him refused to justify his omission for the trip to the Britannia Stadium.

He said: "“Hey people, I got some disappointing news, I’m not travelling to Stoke.

"The Boss left me out the squad. No explanation.â€

Olympique Marseille are believed to be monitoring Babel's situation at Anfield with a view to swooping for the 23-year-old, who was also the subject of interest from ambitious Premier League newcomers Birmingham City.

Former Reds midfielder Harry Kewell is currently playing alongside him for the Istanbul club and has reportedly spoken highly of Benitez and the Turkey international's prospective future team mates.

Turan has been a long admirer of Liverpool and is expected to jump at the opportunity of joining the club he once described as his "dream team".

babel will not be up for that at all. not gonna happen. i think rafa even said today that we will sign no one else this month.

Nah, he said that we were looking at players but it was difficult to find the right players yada yada.

Rijkaard is Galas manager, that may convince him.

Makes sense, he played well against us at Anfield before. Rafa loves that, he hates Babel. Make the deal Happen.

that would be crucial, actually.

I hope this happens. Babel is totally useless to us right now. I'd rather someone who can possibly make the bench.

Gala value Arda at 13 mill. According to the Turkish press we've offered Babel +3 mill. They say we're in negotiations.

only by telling me that gala value him at 25 mill, instead of 13, and that real, chelsea and city are competing for his signature.

and then we wouldn't be getting him anyway. cruel world.

As I said in the recent Babel threads, I've always been hoping he'll make it here, but it's really become a futile exercise now. Rafa plainly doesn't want him anywhere near the team and his worth to us this season, in footballing terms, is near enough zero. With that in mind, any sort of replacement that would be able to contribute in a positive sense would be an improvement and if our goal is to turn this season around, I'm not going to be too judgemental at this point.

That said, if this was the summer, I'd be a little more concerned as to how we make use of the Babel funds because then we've got more options and a clearer view of what's ahead.

I kept faith in Babel for a while but as you said it can only last so long before its time to face reality, he will never make it at our club so a sale or a swap is the best option. Lets hope if this happens that Turan will become what we hoped that Babel would become.
